Jacob is a Hebrew name making it technically of Jewish origin. There are lots of English forms of this name such as Jake, James, Jamie etc...so it doesn't mean your crush is Jewish.

Neither, it's the Greek version of the Hebrew name Yaakov.

Does it matter?
David(Dave) is Jewish. Matthew(Matt) is Jewish. Bartholomew(Bart) is Jewish.
Why worry if it's Jewish or Christian?
GOD bless
