In the short term illegal immigrants pay into the Social Security system which is almost bankrupt.

They also provide recruits for the military.

But not all of them pay taxes.

In the long term Amnesty Will Cost U.S. Taxpayers at Least $2.6 Trillion.

Tancredo, Ron Paul, and Hunter have the most conservative voting records on immigration.

Of these three, Ron Paul has the best chance of winning the Primary election.
Paul's campaign has almost 4 times as much money to spend as Tancredo.

Ron Paul has stated that he wants very strong borders and he was appalled that our government had taken border guards off of our borders to send them to Iraq.
http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig8/haman3.html
This is his six point plan:
Physically secure our borders and coastlines. We must do whatever it takes to control entry into our country before we undertake complicated immigration reform proposals.
Enforce visa rules. Immigration officials must track visa holders and deport anyone who overstays their visa or otherwise violates U.S. law. This is especially important when we recall that a number of 9/11 terrorists had expired visas.
No amnesty. Estimates suggest that 10 to 20 million people are in our country illegally. That’s a lot of people to reward for breaking our laws.
No welfare for illegal aliens. Americans have welcomed immigrants who seek opportunity, work hard, and play by the rules. But taxpayers should not pay for illegal immigrants who use hospitals, clinics, schools, roads, and social services.
End birthright citizenship. As long as illegal immigrants know their children born here will be citizens, the incentive to enter the U.S. illegally will remain strong.
Pass true immigration reform. The current system is incoherent and unfair. But current reform proposals would allow up to 60 million more immigrants into our country, according to the Heritage Foundation. This is insanity. Legal immigrants from all countries should face the same rules and waiting periods.

The NAFTA Superhighway might be another significant threat to American borders.

ABSOLUTELY NO!
For those of you going on about "rounding up millions of people and deporting them", you are buying into our government's control of the mainstream media who make it seem that we have two choices: grant mass amnesty, or spend gazillions deporting the 12 (it's acutally more like 20) million illegals. They never mention ATTRITION THROUGH ENFORCEMENT OF THE CURRENT LAWS. It's actually pretty simple--dry up the magnets that cause illegals to come here and stay, like jobs, government assistance, housing, free medical, schooling, etc. and they will SELF-DEPORT. If we enforce the current laws on the books the honeypot dries up and they have no choice but to go home on their own dime. If you are not already a member of NumbersUSA (numbersusa.com) you need to check them out. It's a great source of up-to-date immigration info and a very easy way to send faxes to your representatives.

No, make them self deport by making it difficult to get benefits and jobs. Some States are effectively doing that, if all States do, there will be no choice but to go home to their country of origin.

As far as the logistical issue, well it'd be pretty easy to round up at least 100 Mexican males in one morning in my town as they gather by the side of the road by the hardware store trying to flag you down to give them illegal work. Sting operation. Nail anybody who happens to actually hire them, too (put them in jail for a night, fine them $10,000 collectable by a lein on their house to pay for what I am proposing, and impound their car or truck. thus, they too have a criminal record). Once you ship the males off, if they have their wives or anchor babies or cousins or whatever accept an open offer to come forward and we'll bus them back to join their menfolk in Mexico after every single one of them gets a felony record in this country... but at least their family would be back together... the anchor babies can come back legally when they are 18, I guess... (the anchor baby thing has to end, too). So there you have maybe 500 or 1000 gone, just from one town. Do the same thing all over America. How to pay for it? Well, the idiots who hire off the streets will have paid some fines and/or lost their property, for one. Also, it'll very quickly pay for itself from the savings from education, emergency room visits, crime and jail, welfare and social security, and a rapid increase in property values.

I think there's more to it than just yes or no. I think more should have been done to prevent the current situation in the US and I also think more should be done to prevent them from coming in in the future. However, it's going to be very difficult to kick out 11 million people. If there were an easy solution, then I'd say no, they should be asked to leave.

Just letting you know most people in this forum are going to say no.
That being said this doesn't speak for majority of Americans as a whole. Heck if I never read the news I'd be prone to believe that Ron Paul is one of the top tier canidates because so many of his supporters are in this & other online forums but in reality he's polling at about 1%
Personally I would say yes to the ones that would be willing to learn English and pay taxes and only if the borders were secured.
but that's just my opinion
believe it or not there's an entire site devoted to immigration polls
like this one
Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg Poll

N=1056
One proposal would allow undocumented immigrants who have been living and working in the United States for a number of years, and who do not have a criminal record, to start on a path to citizenship by registering that they are in the country, paying a fine, getting fingerprinted, and learning English, among other requirements. Do you support or oppose this, or haven't you heard enough about it to say?

If they are criminals then send them back. If they work hard & stay out of trouble then let them be. People can not truley answer this unless they know an illegal immigrat & see their side.
