Or does female intuition have enough sense to avoid this corrupt institution?

PS I'm not saying ordinary Catholics are corrupt (and many leading 'Fundies' are as well).

I am not sure if there can be a female pope, but there is a myth that there was a feamle Pope Joan (La Papessa) for a brief time in the 850's. it is unconfirmed. the general view by scholars is that she was fictional.

To your surprise I must tell you that there was one.
Her name was Joan and she reigned during the 13th century.
She was also commonly called "La Papessa" which translated to English from Italian means "The Female Pope".
She was considered an "antichrist" for the simple reason that she was a... "female". Image a female Pope in the 13th century when nowadays that idea still is a great tabu...
It would of been an enormous difference in the catholic church if females were allowed to these positions. Maybe that's what the institution needs today.
Imagine one of the greatest angels walking this earth at the same time we have, Mother Teresa, as a Pope?
Imagine what could of been accomplished with her?
Wow... nice thought, uh?

there is a story of a girl who became a monk and eventually became pope. They call her Pope Joan but she use a masculine name when she was a monk . The story has it that she was found out when she became pregnant. It is of course denied by the catholic church and they probably shuffled the dates about to not leave a gap unexplained.
Pope Joan is the name of a female pope (also La Papessa) who supposedly reigned for less than two years in the 850s,[1] based on a legend that circulated in the Middle Ages. Pope Joan is regarded by most modern historians and religious scholars as fictitious, possibly originating as an anti-papal satire.

There's a "conspiracy theory" that there was a female pope already. She acted like a man to get the title. Pope Joan - look it up. Supposedly this is why there was a certain chair made that has a hole in the bottom of it so a priest could check the gender of the one who would be Pope. But, like I said, it's a conspiracy theory... so I don't know how much truth there is to it.

Depends on sanctuary for those who hurt the children and if the male preists can do any better with that?
I don't know. In Hebrew OT law it states that sanctuary be set up for those who trangress, you cannot really put a child molesting preist in prison, might as well shoot him on the spot.
It is not just the Catholic church that is suffering from this.
then again how much is truth of the accusations and how much is not?

No. There's not enough time. St Malachi prophecied that Peter II would be the last Pope. And he's up next.
