Acceptable “Comprehensive Immigration Reform.”

When the following steps are completed then we can talk about a limited amnesty.
Complete building the proposed fence along the US/Mexican border; this is essential. Pass H.R. 1940, the Birthright Citizenship Act of 2007, which would end the process of granting automatic birthright citizenship to the babies born in the United States to illegal aliens. Make it a felony with a mandatory minimum sentence of 60 days in prison to be in the US illegally. Keep the National Guard on border patrol duty and let them interdict intruders.

New Border Patrol agents must be trained before amnesty is given. Greatly reduce chain immigration and replace it with a merit-based immigration system. Stops providing social services to those who are in this country illegally. Triple the number of ICE agents. End the practice of dual citizenship. You are an American, or you are not!

English must be made the official language of the U.S. government. Many more U.S. police officers must be trained in how to process illegal aliens by ICE, in the 278 (g) program, and the program must be fully funded. End the practice of cities giving sanctuary to illegal aliens by reducing federal government funding to those cities, and by arresting the mayors. Charge them with aiding and abetting illegal immigration.

First take care of everyone that is , or was born to an American Citizen. This is America, learn the language, to read, write and speak. There has been alot said in order to become a US citizen, it's a requirement to read, speak, and talk English, but who's backing that up. The State and Government offices are printing information in all languages that request it. The language could be a first or second priority, but everyone coming into the United States should also have to be able to support themselves and families. We have older and people having difficult times that are being passed over so benefits can be granted to immigrates coming into the States. Citizenship is being granted at the rate it is, because of the politics of the people running for office and the votes that can be found, not for the benefit of US citizens.
I'm for Immigration when the people can take care of themselves, and don't demand we make changes to suit their needs.
Mexico isn't the closest border to us, that needs action taken about the people crossing. Canada isn't do a great job at keeping their border tight. Canada has outstanding areas to see and visit, yet the welcome mat doesn't stay out long if it's found that people have needs of support. Could be a better idea of moving Bush's Fence from Mexico to Canada borders

I think the proposal to stop illegal immigration should be encourage self-deportation; make it mandatory that illegal immigrants don't apply for jobs or receive entitlements. Once this is put into place, self-deportation would be an option. People that self-deport would be allowed to apply for a visa in the future and come back into the country (but wait longer than 5 years or the number of years it takes for a normal immigrant that does the paper work to receive the visa). People that don't self-deport will be deported and won't be able to come back ever again. Deportees would be sent home on a one-way ticket to their country. We need to build a fence along our Northern and Southern borders and have Border Patrol agents be on the border (and have them be able to shoot at an illegal immigrant only if attacked). We should have checkpoints as well (multiple checkpoints in very dangerous areas) to stop the flow of illegal immigrants. And we must stop the "anchor baby" magnet by having the child of an illegal immigrant to decide whether to become an American citizen or not (at the age of 18). Thanks!

Enforce the laws. Stop making anchor babies citizens. Do not pay for anything for anyone who is not a legal citizen. Make English the National language and take care of the people of America first. Also, stop calling illegals immigrants! Immigrants are not people who break into the country and demand things. Immigrants follow the laws of the land and speak the language of the land.

Change the 14th Amendment.

Repeal the '65 Immigration reform act.

Stop welfare for illegals.

Aggressively enforce current laws.

Build the fence.

Round up the existing illegal aliens and deport them.

Begin the use of currently incarcerated illegal alien labor in a very visible manner. Stoop labor comes to mind.

Cut down on welfare for Americans to encourage them to fill in on the jobs like stoop labor that was being done by illegals - jobs that cannot be filled by illegal alien labor as above.

Enforce identity requirements for voting.

Require proof of citizenship or resident alien status to enroll in schools.

Basically undo everything the Democrats have done since the mid 60's.

Simple pass a law that is very explicit. If a person or cooperation hires, rents to, or any any way provides any kind of services to an illegal alien then the person providing and the CEO, CFO and the Board of the cooperation will serve an absolute minimum of five years cleaning up Superfund sites by hand.

There will be not plea bargains, easing of the sentence, or shorting that sentence in any way!

What do you bet that illegals even family members will not be welcome.

I'm assuming you are talking about illegal immigration. I think it's a lost cause because as long as other governments are corrupt and inept and we are prosperous and democratic people will come anyway. The solution is simple...put pressure on the presidents of poorer nations to do something about poverty in their countries. People won't have the incentive to leave when they are better off!

Since there is an estimated 12-20 million already in America, nobody knows the exact number for sure, I say we join up with Mexico and have one big country. I read in the Atlanta Journal Constitution that white people will be the minority in the year 2020. It's obvious the fence idea is not working because they can't build it fast enough. If you can't beat'um join'em.

Kick them out. Mexico depends on their Illegals working here and sending their money back to their families in Mexico. they bleed our economy. We have enough problems here in the U.S. with our own citizens being homeless, healthcare, etc. . Instead of draining our economy by allowing them to stay,we should send all the illegals back into Mexico (All you have to do is deny them jobs,a free education for their kids, that tax payers pay for,and free medical care, that once again, tax payers are paying for) and they will leave.

The money that the country would be saving could be put back into programs for the homeless,a medical and perscription plan for the elderly etc.

I know the govt. wants to keep the illegals here, just ask Bush and Mccain, but they only want that to keep big business happy by increasing their profit margin.

As far as the Geraldo excuse of if we get rid of the Illegals,we would be paying $5 for a head of lettuce,we have a prison system, let the non violent offenders work the fields, under supervision of course.

If any organizations like the ACLU (who also defend pedaphiles) decised to take action against the govt. for kicking the illegals out, they should be prosecuted for harboring illegal activity(coming into the country illegally is against the law).Thats why its Illegal.
