My 12 year old dog is a lifelong poop-eater. Yuck. The only reliable solution is to keep the yard cleaned up. I've heard of people sprinkling tobasco on the poop, but I always figured if you're going to do that, you might as well just pick it up...

DETER pills worked for my dog. Once it works & your dog no longer eats her poo, give a Deter pill once every week or two, rather than daily. DETER can be purchased at Petco or PetSmart. I tried another product, S.E.P. (stop eating poop), but it didn't work on my small dog. Also, keep the poop picked up immediately or daily when you get home from work.

Beagles eat dog poop because it's just recycled dog food to them with some yummy undigested bits in there. They don't have a "gross out" factor like humans do, they eat it because they like it!
The only prevention is to pick up all poop immediately.
Don't use those "powders" they are mono sodium glutamate, i.e. MSG. I wouldn't eat it on a bet, much less feed it to my dog.

i have a 5 mos old puppy and she does the same thing!the vet told me that she eats it to hide it because she is embarrassed but our other dog went through the same phase and is not doing that anymore at 1 yr. so i guess it depends on the age of the dog if it is a different problem i guess!

Try a meat tenderizer. It is in the spice isle at grocery. Just shake some on dog food and its poo and it should quit.
