I have a nine month old Morkie who is/was trained to go on Weepads. In about the last month she has started to pee and poop right next to (NOT ON) the mats. I had the mats on a wood floor, and now want to move it. I put the pad in the new spot and she still GOES NEXT TO IT. She doesn't do well with a littler box.

I am gone typically from 5:15 am - 3:00 pm, so I come home to pee and poop and am getting really really sick of this disgusting mess.

I would like to let her roam free while I am gone but I can't trust her right now! HELP!

This seems to always happen, when people opt for training their dog to go pee / poop in the house rather than outdoors.. You should retrain the dog the right way, teaching her to go OUTSIDE.. Crate her while you are gone, and teach her that pee and poop belongs outside, NOT at all in the house.

I have small dogs and the only thing that worked right away was to eliminate the potty pads all together. I started keeping them in a crate with toys and blankets and for about a week I did laundry everyday because they had accidents. Then they stopped peeing and pooping because they realized that I would come back to let them out. They hated and cried about the crates too for just a short time (a week) and it was
heart breaking but now they view it as part of the routine. I also make sure they have had their last water and food at 8pm the night before. They go to the bathroom at around 10:30 and I feed them in the morning and let them out to go to the bathroom again before I leave and they both go pee and poop. After that they play while I get ready to go and then it's time for the crates. It takes a little time for them to get used to the routine but it has been such a blessing!!!!! Trust me, I have a pekingese and a baby chihuahua... they really can hold it. Even the baby can hold it until I get home, she sleeps with me and doesn't get up to go out because I control their food and drink.

Someone else told me to leave an icecube out in the evening just in case they play and need a little thirst quencher. It fills that need without bloating the bladder.

Sorry to go on so long, but I know that your morkie is little, my chi is 2.5 pounds and hates going outside to potty if it's cold or windy or there is dew on the ground but the best advice that I got is this: She is still a dog, treat her like a dog not a toy or stuffed animal. Make her go potty outside, walk on a leash and she'll be happiest for it! And she truly is!!

This is a very common problem with dogs taught to eliminate indoors.

Retrain her to go outside.
