Alright here is my problem, Im 20 years old. I have pretty good credit. I love my mom but shes sick in the head and has a lieing problem. i live with my dads side of the family because of this. Anyways i come to my moms house every now and then and when i check the mail everytime. Im getting letters from ATT wireless, washington mutual statements, us bank statements and credit card statements from them both, IN MY NAME. I HAVE NEVER applied to any of those places. the only bank i have is BANK OF AMERICA Now im worried about what shes doing. I ask her about it and naturally she acts like she doesnt know. And ofcourse she knows my information she is my mom. What can i do to stop these bank accounts she opens online with my name? And shes applying for wireless in my name. Should i call the banks and tell them to close them? I dont know what to do about this. Shes basicly using my identity.

This is against the law, Now its up to you if you want to report your mom or not. You could also call the credit agencies ( all3) and put a stop to ALL recent transactions

First, you can report to the big three credit report agency to indicate that you are not applying for any credit card, open account etc, or additional proof of ID required before they can release your credit report.
And you can pull a credit report to see what has been opened under your name. Then to determine on which ones you want to close. For example, like credit card with big limits. And make sure there is no late pay.
Good luck, you need to protect yourself before you can offer your mom any help.

She has to start over with a new bank account and a new card. The bank should refund the fraudulent money but it will take a while. There are people who have remote card readers. They can read the magnetic strip on a card if it is not inside your wallet or purse. Never put a card in a pocket or lay it on the counter when you shop.

This is a very sad sittuation
and first if I was in your shoes I would call and set up for your mother to go for a lie ditector test (to make absulote sure thats she,s doing this) and if the test shows that she,s lying and really stealing your credit than the Police will take over the situation
what ever happens KEEP LOVING YOUR MOTHER

Get a credit report from the three reporting bureaus. You're entitled to a free copy from each every year. If you find anything on there that is not yours, contact the issuing bank and let them deal with it.
P.S. You can have the credit reporting bureaus flag any attempts to open a new account in your name.

when you get these bills out of her mail, take them with you and contact them. Tell them they should have some proof of who took them out. Anyone could get the info to do so.
Never take your purse of important info into her house, lock it in the car. I had this happen on the other side with my oldest daughter and it is a difficult situation. But this is your future and the bad credit won't go away for a long time unless you do something about it now. Think of yourself this time, you have many years to use that credit for important things and you want it to be good.

i agree with everyone else, last but not least, if it's at all possible for u to do maybe u can consider changing your mailing address to stop ur mom from further destroying ur good credit, besides ur only 20, and will need that good credit in the yrs. to come so do something about it now before it is too late good luck

Its identity theft no matter who is doing it. You can call and close the accounts but that isn't going to stop her. She will just open new ones. If you want to stop her then you need to contact the authorities. I know its family and it will be hard. But you have to decide what is most important to you.
