Is it more expensive to buy chicken bone in or boneless skinless chicken breast? It seems like you are throwing away at least half of the stuff (bones, cartilage, tendons, skin) when you buy chicken legs or wings. Does anyone know of a link that tells you for sure what is a better deal?

Hard to say because they tend to charge a lot more for the boneless chicken breasts but if you buy them on sale and freeze them it would probably be cheaper or at least the same price per pound.

I say getting boneless is better in that you have no waste and are only paying for what you will eat.. Though using the bones in soup stock is always good.

1lb of bone in chicken will feed 2-3 people where 1lb of boneless will feet 4..

Here is a portion size/how much to buy guide.

Hello:

I have always bought the boneless, skinless chicken, because there is less waste and believe it or not it is much cheaper. I usually buy from the Perdue company who also has turkeys through their company and I wouldn't trust any other company I am not kidding! Perdue boneless, skinless chickens have less fat, they are less greasy, and they are more flavorful than other brands are! Last year,we bought a fresh turkey from Perdue for Thanksgiving and it was FULL of white meat and it turned out so moist and juicy after it had baked in the oven.

Plus,Perdue is committed to customer satisfaction and if you were to ever get a product that wasn't right,Perdue would make it right,no questions asked! ;-)

I think that the boneless chicken breast would be the best (if you have dogs or to make barbecue chicken) and the chicken bone would be the second best (if you don't have dogs).

Boneless chicken cost more.

I think the bone-in taste better after the chicken has been cooked.

I appreciate the point you are making, but I think the boneless skinned breasts would be still the dearer.

Boneless is more expensive but its much better because its not so gressy. I think it taste better especially the Perdue brand.

I like to get the bone in. I will debone it and then boil up the bones(since you can't ever get all the meat) and make my own chicken broth. then there is no waste.

I think is better bonless chicken is more healthier for you and you don't have to throw as much stuff away plus there is not bones to throw away and stink up your place.
