Free thinker is one that is to work in the Law of Liberty, truth and Justice at your spirits discretion'. 'Let your conscious bare witness to know if it be good or bad" Remember we all know right from wrong,......it's just many have practiced the weaker beggarly elements of this world to do what defies what is natural and THEY CALL THIS FREE THINKING,.....i KNOW PERSONALLY WHAT IS A TRUE FREETHINKER and it is not one that is tossed by the waves in life not knowing who, what and why they are hear,........once you know the truth,.........thinking becomes much easier,..........because then you and i don't have to rely on our limited understanding of this world and all that is enmity to your soul.........Seek him that is Eternal...J.C. i'm not sure how you could come to either position as a freethinker, but if you can make a case for it, i'd like to hear it. freethinkers are supposed to go on logic and science, not dogma or authority. so what's the logic that leads to you thinking abortion is murder, apart from dogma?
i don't know anyone who boasts about being gay, though lots of people i know are proud of being themselves, proud of who they are. that's not the same thing as boasting though.
it certainly would NOT have been murder if your mother killed you in the womb, before you were born, before you were you. as far as you remember, you started when you came out. if kill someone, it doesn't mean i've murdered all the potential children that person MIGHT have had.

I understand their concept. I differ in the application. I do not think that abortion is wrong by any means. I do think that it is wrong to give birth to a human being when one cannot provide for the human being. I have never understood why any chuch would be concerned with ones sexual preference. I am a freethinker. and I do admit that it is mentally exhausting when I concern myself with anothers person preference or hormonal urges. Only you can disqualify yourself as a free thinker by not thinking that you are free to think.

Being a freethinker does not mean you subscribe to some list of dogma, obviously. I'd be curious in hearing secular arguments against homosexuality though.

Because the vast majority of discrimination against gays and the anti-abortion movement is because of...... you guessed it! Religion! It's also as irrational. There is no rational reason to be against homosexuality or consider abortion as equivalent to killing a person capable of thought and suffering.
Edit: No it wouldn't, anymore than if your parents hadn't had sex would have been. You wouldn't have noticed.

You can think what you want, though I'm sure you will find many who disagree with your stance. As for the Freedom FROM Religion Foundation being concerned with Homosexual issues... it's probably because many of the extremely religious are the one's who attack it, using their religion to justify their actions.

Because much of the discrimination against homosexuals is religion-based. Nobody should be allowed to use their religion to try to deny someone else their reasonable rights.

well the Freedom from Religion Foundation does not want anything that God wants and they want more homosexuality because God (religion according to them) wants the opposite and declares it to be a sin..
They really want freedom from any rules that they themselves don't make up, and this ultimately doesn't work.
