I know this is a stupid question but I think the best way to help people in Mexico from their corrupted government is to make it part of the U.S.. There would be less overcrowding in California and other states, there would be less people starving, and we'll be a step closer to globalization. what do you think? Try not to be too cruel; there's only one race and that's the human race.

I used to be homeless and I know that we have problems in the U.S. but should we only help ourselves and not others?

There is a Mexico that's already part of the US, its called California. That state was once part of the Mexican government. Their government has been trying there hardest to resolve immigration issues with the US and end domestic poverty, crime, and drug trafficking within their own borders. Also Imperialism of other countries is a war crime no matter what good intentions it may seem to bring so NOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!! and NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Imagine how much it would damage our outstanding diplomatic relations with the Mexican government. We would then be fighting a war against Mexico. Our founding fathers fought to eliminate imperialists in our homeland so we should not do the same (even though we are in Iraq and should be getting out). The British when they occupied our land thought they were doing us a favor. That "doing another country a favor" mentality is the typical mindset of an imperialist. Only if the Mexican government backed by popular votes in fair elections willingly surrendered sovereignty to the US would it be ok. But that would never happen unless its Puerto Rico which is the only time in history I ever heard of a formerly independent nation willingly surrender their sovereignty to another country. (However the political situation in Puerto Rico is rather atypical and every 4 (or is it 8?) years Puerto Rico is given the option to vote for full succession of commonwealth status with the US.). However if corruption and organized crime becomes too troublesome in Mexico, they can always request foreign military support to assist in becoming transparent. That happened many times in Columbia when drug cartels had too much power against their own government that the government pleaded for foreign military assistance from the US and other countries to restore its government’s enforceability.

EDIT: Marvel, we only should help others if they want our help. Otherwise it would not be helping, but hurting them instead, and yes the Mexican government has been doing their best to stop illegal immigration into America. Our alliance with Mexico and our joint efforts with Mexico in controlling immigration would help them, not being imperialists. If they wanted to become part of the US they would easily do it just by signing a piece of paper. But they want to remain sovereign so they have every right to be a sovereign nation no matter how bad of shape it’s in. If we do take over Mexico more would flee to the American mainland to escape our illegal occupation. It happens a lot in history, a country thinks they are helping another one by taking it over for the intrest of natural resources and as always it made it worse. Plus Mexico is one of the precious few oil rich countries that we have strong diplomatic relations with, we don't want to make enemies of them because their one of the precious few countries that is willing to help us keep gas in our cars without giving us bullsh**.

I would say sure! why not we're suppporting their citizens who are here by the millions illegally. Might as well reap their oil fields as well to help re-coop the vast amounts of free education, medical, welfare and other public entitlements their citizens are sucking up in our country not to mention that congress and Stupid Ted Kennedy just gave them access to our Social Secuiryt benefits.. that means when you're elligible there won't be anything left for you or your children.

For those who do not know or care about the real history between the U.S. and Mexico should really read the history.

The U.S. had to finally chase "Ponco Villa" into Mexico in the 1800's because they were invading our country robbing and killing our citizens, we sent the U.S. Army in Mexico to apprehend him and they finally got the murdering outlaw.

Then there was a war between Mexico and the U.S., anyone remember the "Alamo"?? the U. S. kicked their rear ends and as a result of the treaty of "Guadalupe" with Mexico, they gave the U.S. what is now California, New Mexico,Arizona.

The U.S. paid Mexico for these lands, we didn't steal anything from them! although we could have accepted the lands but, no we paid the Mexican government for theses lands!

So when these illegals whine about the U.S. stealing their land they'd better go back to Mexico and learn what really happened and who sold out who! Their own country gave away their land.

An interesting question. Not necessarily a stupid one. The main problem I see in making Mexico a part of the USA is how do you conrol the lawlessness that prevails today in Mexico. They are so corrupt that I think it would be like Iraq if we took them over.

I don't know if it would stop the folks from leaving that territory and still moving to California, North Carolina, Texas and elsewhere because that is still where the jobs are. We would have to build a whole new infrastructure in Mexico and develop some type of job structure in order to keep then there and I don't believe in this day and age that that is going to happen.

An interesting thought but I can't see it ever happening. It is much more likely that at some point in the distant future there will be some type of move on the part of the Mexican government to take control of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and southern California and at that time it will be interesting if a conflict takes place similar to the War between the States to keep them as part of the USA vs Mexico.

We will be making Mexico, Africa and Canada a part of the US as one big country. you watch. I have this figured out why our government let all the illegals in to take our country.

The US has MAJOR trouble in trade deficits as we lose manufacturing. US manufacturing will be done in Mexico and Africa.

Mexico, Africa and Canada are so rich in natural resources, we would not have to buy a drop from the middle east.

No superpower could ever survive without a strong manufacturing base. We will use Mexico and Africa as our manufacturing plants with cheap labor. In turn we will fix their governments and create a GIANT superpower.

Mark my words, it is already in transition. You may have heard of the North American Alliance, merging Mexico and Canada....no borders.

This is what is going on...think about it. Why else would Bush give away mainstream America to illegals?

In the end, I will like it. The US will be the established technology base and the simpler manufacturing will be done south and we will fix the government so we can tap the North and South American resources.

This is the master plan...I'm telling you. I was actually viciously against illegal immigrants destroying the American life...now I understand the master plan. Go search "Mexico + Oil" and "Africa + Oil" Go see who is involved, licking our US lips at the thought of aquiring. Go see the great abundance and the disheveled governments that can't pull it together to retrieve the resources.

The US will run their governments. Maybe our name will change from US to United Countries or something.

Think about it, this is the only way this country can survive. We can't compete globally in manufacturing and we can't supply ourselves with enough natural resources.

I would have to say no. Mexico depends on their Illegals working here and sending their money back to their families in Mexico. Mexico would only bleed our economy. To make Mexico part of the United States would mean we would have to support that country and we have enough problems here in the U.S. with our own citizens being homeless, healthcare, etc. . Instead of draining our economy by trying to fix a broken country,we should send all the illegals back into Mexico (All you have to do is deny them jobs,a free education for their kids, that tax payers pay for,and free medical care, that once again, tax payers are paying for) and they will leave.

The money that the country would be saving could be put back into programs for the homeless,a medical and perscription plan for the elderly etc.

I know the govt. wants to keep the illegals here, just ask Bush and Mccain, but they only want that to keep big business happy by increasing their profit margin.

As far as the Geraldo excuse of if we get rid of the Illegals,we would be paying $5 for a head of lettuce,we have a prison system, let the non violent offenders work the fields, under supervision of course.

Hunny, stop worrying about Mexico, you have a good heart, but Mexico is ok with out us, they have the 13th largest economy in the world, that is not bad, not bad at all compared to the hundred of countries it beats. To the person who says Mexico has a bad infrastructure, hunny no , it doesn't , in fact some mexican roads, well most of them , are in better state than the ones in the US, most u.s highways have been declared in need of reconstruction so yeah, bad infrastructure? no... only small VILLAGES have that , the airports are modern especially Mexico city's which is undergoing reconstruction , anyways, no hunny leave it where it is, the Mexicans you see coming here are Mexicans who ,mostly come here to be with their families who immigrated here , Mexico is doing well so let's leave it alone ok :)

No. Mexico has it own culture, traditions, history and language. The process of trying to merge two different countries together, though not impossible, would be not only long, but also difficult.

BTW What makes you think that the majority of the people living in Mexico would accept this?

Wrong, there are several distinct races, and yes, it is a stupid question. Why on earth should we make the third world country, meheco, part of the US? We should build a wall along the entire border, man it with the military with machine guns, grenades, mines, and lots of barbed wire. Deport all illegal aliens, enforce our immigration laws, and let Mexicans fix their own country.

We had a revolution in the US, and its time the Mexicans revolted against their corrupt govt and their super rich aristocracy. Kill the rich, Mexicans and stay in your own country!

So if the US takes over Mexico, where do all of the Mexicans go, we certainly don't want all of those illegals in our country.
Where can we ship them.

If things are so bad there then the Mexican people need to force change and end corruption.

Of course you are correct - Mexico does not have a fair, stable infrastructure sufficient to care for its people, but in this cruel world, logic does not apply, so unfortunately, annexing Mexico is not an option - Mexico will continue to be just another corrupt, Third World country, and its citizens will continue to try to pour illegally into the US by the millions.
