Just say NO !
I wouldn't mention it. I bet no one will ever know. If it does come up, say oh I forgot I thought no charges ever were pressed in that matter becasue it never ended in conviction.

Your record will show a crimial charge. Unfortunately the resolution of the charge may not always show on all systems. Especially online firms selling information may only show the the charge type and when it happened. Any person interested in the charge itself would have to pull your court record to find out that the charge was dropped. Anyone can be arrested and it is not such a bad thing especially when the charge is dropped. However the public online reporting on background checks is not complete (the police has apparently direct access to the full picture) and may damage your reputation still by ways of leaving the wrong impression. Employers may see only the charge and may base their decision on it - Of course if this is a single charge only on your record then it is a little unfair in my opinion. On the other hand people with a bunch of charges dropped or not will stand out and rightfully it should be that way.

First, any and all adult criminal arrests anywhere in the USA go on your FBI's NCIC Criminal History Report record. It will show the disposition code.
Second, depending on the job and how comprehensive the back ground check is, they might not find it if you do not reveal it, but then, that could be fraud and get you in to trouble later with the company.
Third, most places only ask you to list criminal convictions and not just arrests.

If the case got dropped then your background check will be fine the only thing they may show up is the arrest that will never come off sorry but since you didn't get convicted then you will be fine.

Any job application I've seen asked if you have ever been CONVICTED of a crime. You do not have to disclose this.
If you were fingerprinted, the arrest will appear on your record, but there will be a statement after it that reads something like this:
"The person was not found guilty of the charge and should be presumed innocent"

In most states they will still be able to see it on your record. Companies are really not suppose to use arrest records when considering someone for employment, but you never know.
