I am the type of person who HAS to stay busy to be happy. I am also a SAHM. Staying home was a huge adjustment for me, especially because I worked in a very high-energy, fast-paced job before my son was born (medic on an ambulance!)
I make it my mission to keep my house work under control and I also make sure my son and I have an afternoon outing each and every day. It maybe isn't anything fantastically cool, but we will at least cruise the mall, go to the library, play at the park, etc. We also joined a playgroup that meets on Wednesday and we attend the weekly story time at the library. It helps to keep me from feeling like my days are all blending together AND my son gets daily social interaction with children his own age, while I get to meet a lot of other mommies :)

I was never bored. Just because you are a SAHM doens't mean that you have to STAY home. Go out and meet friends for coffee, put up posters in grocery stores to meet other SAHMs, join a playgroup so you and your child can interact with other moms and kids. I always had something going on.

If your bored a lot, why not start a hobby? My mom makes quilts and does crafts. Like flower arrangements and stuff. Anything you like doing.

Depends on how old your kids are. If they are at school, what are you doing when they are there? If they are too young for school then are you cleaning, cooking, reading, writing, going to school on-line? Only boring people are bored.
