If the devil is the one who supposedly tempts us to sin, then once you go to hell, wouldn't he reward you for sinning, rather than punish you?

LOL I like that kind of thinking.

It is good to always scrutinize and question things that do not make sense to you so that they do.

Reading the bible is not going to answer your question as other say, they are to brainwashed and believe God wrote it himself when it was a bunch of men 40-100 years after the death of the HUMAN named Jesus was murdered by the Romans, that they wrote down things. now that is the proof that the bible is written in the hand of MAN not god. If they were alive today they would all be locked up and be wearing white jackets and padded cells for homes.

If there really was a god or devil then i suspect you are probably correct, he would reward anyone that sinned because a sin to satan is more a prayer to him, why would he want to torment someone on his side? You make more sense with this than most I knows view on hell.

good job and creative thinking..keep it up!!

(SO all you who say otherwise PROVE IT!!! WAIT YOU CAN"T CAN YOU LOL that is and always will be your downfall, your lack of intelligence in the face of the truth you fall back onto a book with no relevance but a good Sci Fi fantasy story,,, NONE of you have ANY PROOF POSITIVE, so until you can PROVE without a doubt, why should anyone believe?)

It would indeed be a rarity if the Devil ever tempted you personally. He is roaming the earth, that's true. But he is more likely pulling the strings of some Totalitarian Govt.We have enough sin nature in ourselves from the fall of Adam to blow up the world without Satan's help.Satan never does reign in Hell as the cartoons show us.He doesn't want to go there either. But in the end days he will be ,first locked up for 1000 years ,then cast into the Lake of Fire, the true Hell, with all the non believers.Hell for the unsaved right now is really called Hades. It is a holding pen until judgment day.Read the parable about "Lazarus and the rich man" in Luke 16: 9 and on.That's what the unbeliever faces until the Great White Throne Judgment.

That's a pretty lame 'loophole'.

Suppose there is a Devil & a Hell, the whole point is that the tempting is to trick you so that you can go to Hell & then be tortured by the Devil for evermore.

That is if there is a Devil & a Hell...

More disturbing is what kind of God would a) allow such a thing to happen and b) seem to employ the Devil to do his dirty work?

That's why I'm not into this Devil & Hell thing which isn't really in the New Testament very much!

I really don't see how this is a loophole. From what I know, he tempts you to sin so that he can punish you. He wants to torture you for all eternity; torture you, not party with you. The only way to do that though, is to get you to sin. Just like God wants you to behave and live a virtuous life so you can live in Heaven and be rewarded, Satan wants you to sin so you can live in Hell and be tortured.

I do think the whole thing can be rather confusing though, so I do understand where the question came from.

First, where did you hear that Satan punishes people in hell? Hollywood? Get real. Satan will not have domain in hell. Hell is Satan's punishment, along with all his demons, and anyone on earth who wishes to join him there. (Yes, that's right. If you reject God, your only alternative is to join evil in hell, where evil will be destroyed.) God will eternally separate heaven from hell, by closing the only two links between heaven and hell, Abraham's Bosom, and Earth. And then, evil and darkness will never again be able to infiltrate goodness and light.

To answer your question, Satan will be too busy falling into a bottomless pit, with his hair on fire to worry about the likes of you.

Good luck.

Not if he's evil...company of thieves and all that.

A "good" boss will reward you for following his instructions...a "bad" boss is more likely to laugh in your face when you ask for rewards. Only good rewards good...to an evil person, another person is only worth rewarding as long as he or she is performing a valuable service...the instant that changes, that person will eliminate the worthless person.

I have no doubt that Satan can hand out earthly rewards for people that follow him and strive to lead others to him...but once he has you in hell, watch out...your usefulness in his plan is over...what could possibly motivate him to waste any more rewards on someone that's already made an irrevocable decision to serve him and isn't in a position to influence anyone else to make the same decision?

I always laugh how people think that Heaven is where God rules and Hell is where Satan rules from his throne. That’s the thing Satan is going to be punished also with the other person. You aren't gonna greet each other and say wow how was your life on earth? No Satan is going to be equal in the fire with all other unbelievers. The punishment comes from God and Him alone.

That's a great question, but I think it comes from the Pauline Gospel... so let's get back to what Jesus was actually teaching... that will change everything.

The Prodigal Son was tempted and went for it... but since his Father reamained his Father regardless of what he did... all was forigiven.

My answer was based on the Original Gospel, not the Pauline Gospel you hear these days.

Yes, you're correct. And here's another one: IF God loves us, and IF he created Lucifer knowing FULL WELL as he did so that Lucifer would fall and tempt God's beloved people into sin then how can he allow his beloved people to be punished for that sin by letting His beloved people go to hell? It makes no sense. Zippo. None. Nada. It would never happen. And it doesn't.

Hell was created by God as a place of torture for those who turn their backs on Him. The devil tricks us into sinning and that's how he gets people to join his suffering in hell for all eternity. So the devil doesn't reward people. Hell is a consequence for us sinning without accepting Christ into our hearts.
