SHE'S A BABY!!!

Please let her have the bottle for just a little while longer - I BEG you!! We are all born with a sucking reflex - let hers wear itself out naturally!!

I am prepared to write you a many-million dollar guarantee that she won't still need a bottle when she graduates from high school, or when she becomes a mother herself!! For the extra comfort and reassurance it gives her, please give her that bottle till she turns 2!

My 3 are boys, and everyone knows that they're slower about things like that than baby girls are - but not a single one of them even thought about owning a pacifier or a bottle after the age of 2.

I know letting a kid cry it out is what the norm is, but I could never deal with it.
Over the next couple weeks, dilute the milk/juice in her bottle until it is just water. This way, while you're trying to wean off the bottle, the water won't hurt her teach like milk or juice. Then start putting a little less water in it each time. Eventually she will not be interested in the tiny little bit she receives.
A friend of mine added a bit of vinegar to the water and her young ones ended up despising the bottle.

Sit down with her and tell her that only big girls use sippy cups. Also tell her that there are little babies that don't have bottles to use at night time and that she should give her bottles away to those babies so they can stop crying. It might take a bit of time to get her off the bottle. If you dont already have one, try getting a sippy cup that has a straw. That worked with my son around that age.

Tough love...get rid of the bottles and bear the reprocautions. I did that with the pacifier a month ago. It was hard but just do it and pretend it doesn't exist.

this is a hard one...... my son weaned himself from the bottle at a year, refused to take it.........
However, what I did with my daughter was......... she had to throw them away...... I gave her three bottles, and we stood by the garbage and she had to say bye bye to her bottles..... then when she fussed, she got her sippy cup and when she asked for a bottle, I had to remind her she threw them away, they were all gone......
Keep it as simple as possible.........
They have those wonderful sippy's now that don't leak......

Throw the bottles away and you will just have to let her cry it out. She will get over it. Good luck and stick with it.

For me personally, I had to throw them all away so I wouldn't give in to the crying. You feel so bad and want to make them happy. I had to open the cupboard and show her ..."look! They are all gone!" It'll take a few days.
Good luck!
