in the beginning when God made man, man sinned and therefore sin entered the world for the first time. Nothing was perfect anymore. if you know about the old testament then you know that they sacrificed animals that were"clean". they were supposedly perfect. Jesus is referred to the lamb thats blood was shed for our sins. Well God had to sacrifice his own son since he was the only thing perfect in order to cleanse us all of our sins. But in order for your sins to be forgiven you have to believe in Jesus and believe that he died on the cross for your sins. Also you have to have a relationship with Christ bc through christ is the only way to the Father. neways hope i helped a lil bit. maybe u arent too confused. =]

Before I explain, I must say Christ didn't just die for our sins, he overcame death, so we can too. In the days following Adam and Eve, priests sacrificed animals to atone for the sins of the people. This was done annually, because the blood of a bull or lamb cannot keep you from sinning. So the people continued to sin. Therefore, God said he would prepare a perfect sacrifice. A being who was not born with a sin nature (immaculate conception), and who as a result never sinned. Once this perfect sacrifice's blood was shed at calvary the belief that he was the son of God, and the blood he shed was shed to wash away our sins, then no other sacrifice would ever be needed again. Because his blood could do what the blood of an animal could not do. Stop man from sinning. So while sin still exists, it exists because most of the people who believe Jesus is the son of God, don't believe in or understand the POWER IN THE BLOOD. They believe he was just a sacrifice like an animal, and they sin over and over and ask for forgiveness over and over, because they don't believe in the new testament, but still follow the old. For a testament to be in force, it requires blood. The new testament is in force in my life, I have ceased from sin; I invite all who call themselves Christian to let the new testament be in force in their lives as well.

To paraphrase:
".....God's penalty for Adam if he sinned? Was it not death? (Genesis 2:16, 17) "The wages sin pays is death," wrote the apostle Paul. (Romans 6:23) Adam paid for his sin with his own death......... What about the condemnation that the entire human race came under because of that sin? A death was needed to atone for their sins. But whose death could justly cover the transgressions of all mankind?........."soul for soul [or, life for life]." (Exodus 21:23) According to this legal principle, the death covering mankind's transgressions would have to be of a value equal to what Adam had lost. Only the death of another perfect man could pay the wages of sin. Jesus was such a man. Indeed, Jesus was "a corresponding ransom" for the saving of all redeemable mankind descended from Adam..—1 Timothy 2:6; Romans 5:16, 17."

We lost eternal life when Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden and listened to the devil. Sin came into the world. The wages of sin is death. We were dead in our sins with no hope for eternal life until Christ came and went to the Cross of Calvary. On the cross He took all of our horrible sins and diseases upon His body and virtually took away the sins of the world to all who believe on Him. His crucifixion, death and resurrection proves that the grave cannot hold us and that we will be resurrected in the latter days. God set it up that if we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior and believe in Him he freely gives us eternal life with Him. If we reject Jesus, then we have no hope of eternal life with the Lord and we spend eternity in hell.

God created the world and mankind. This is God's rule and man is free to choose eternal life or eternal death. And yes, if we reject the Lord, then we have chosen eternal death in hell.
If we accept the Lord, then we spend eternity with the Savior.

Mankind is more spirit, than flesh and blood. Life on this earth is a tiny matter compared to life eternal. Choose Jesus.

In Genesis, Adam and Eve had sinned in the garden of eden. Because of this, everyone was born sinful. Everything was no longer perfect. Human kinds nature was destroyed. God sent his son to die for our sins so that we would not have to live with the burden that they would have caused us. Just think, because he died for our sins, we are forgiven of all the bad things we have done. If we accept him as our Lord and Savior, we will one day be in heaven with him. I hope that answers your question.

We all deserve Hell, count how many times you sin in a day and use a calculator to add up an estimate of how many sins you committed, now, every one of those sins deserves death, and only death can pay the penalty, so Jesus died so that we don't have to go to Hell if we believe.

YHWH is a brutal tyrant who lashes out randomly in anger and demands sacrifices. As long as someone suffers when he's mad, it doesn't matter who it is. That really is the mentality of the people who wrote the Bible.
