He kept men in his inner circle so I was just wondering if he confided in them more or related to them better.

Both were the same to Him. He loved all equally.

There are examples in the Bible of Jesus having important conversations with both men and women. For example, the first time on record that we know Jesus told someone He was the Messiah was to a woman, the Samaritan woman at the well.
