Since there are millions of unmarried teen-age prenancies and so many children that are abused and abandoned, don't you think it would be smarter to have birth control at or near the time of birth and then have it removed when they are adult enough to prove they could be loving, capable parents?

It wouldn't have to be anything extreme, but simple skills in life, like the ability to read, be of legal age, have a job.

You know everyone else who answered seems against this. If I had girls I would consider this. Yes it would be removed at their request when they turned 18 but while I had control, then I don't think that is a bad idea.

It would be very difficult to judge when someone is fully capable of being a parent. I can't imagine a system to approve or reject capability. I believe that if our systems that are already in place were given enough resources and more intense training there would be less instances of abuse and/or abandonment.

You mean to implant this into female babies, so they can't reproduce? Or into teenage mothers so they don't get pregnant again? They have pulled some of this kind of thing in Africa, but we are not that kind of country (yet)

And who's going to be the judge? You? Feel free to offer up your baby girls for this, I'll take a pass and just raise them right. Oh, you meant everyone else's children..........
