Ok, i don't know if i should do this, but i was thinking about making one of those hand stiched patterns with a saying on it for my mom for the holidays coming up? I never really made one before, i guess u have to spend a lot of time with it, should i get a smaller one? Im in my mid 20's, i figured it would be something different??

You should start out with something simple..........maybe look in the craft stores for something called stamped cross stitch..... and I'm sure your mom will be so excited........ because when you hand make something, it truly means your thinking of that person and their likes or dis-likes. Good luck

I have given many gifts of handstitching, knitting, and other needlework and have always gotten complimented on them. People in general love knowing how much time and caring went into making them a hand made gift. Go for it and good luck.

There are kits you can get that have directions that are easy to follow. If you want to make something that requires a skill, you could take adult ed. night classes. Check out your local community college offerings.
