i think that under 18, the most should be a 2 year difference.

That depends on the ages of the people. Anyone under 21 should probably stick to 2 years, and be sure both of you are legal age under state law. After you reach some level of adulthood, around 30 or so then the age difference doesn't really matter that much, it is more a matter of mutual attraction. But for a guy of 20?? He should NEVER be going out with anyone under 18 and definitely not a 16 year old. If you want to go out when she is 21 and he is 24, that is a whole different story.

Well, since you are 16yrs old, it becomes a concern because you're underage. Once you turn 18, the legal age, the age wouldn't be much of a big deal. But otherwise, there's nothing wrong with the age gap because it's not much of a big difference. I'm 20 dating with a 26yr old.

well since you are 16 I would say no, but if you were 17 or 18 it would be different to have a 4 yr age difference

I'm 42 and my boyfriend of over two years is 24. That is a bit much. But we love each other and for now it is working. However, I do think it is important that both should be consenting adults. 16 could be a lot of trouble for a 20 year old.

well if they're under the legal age then i would just say a year. but after that i don't think it really matters. well to an extent it does. say if the guy was like 44 and the girl was only 20. that's a little much. it just depends on the guy and girl.

It doesn't really matter. It's just based on what the couple feels is right for them.
But it would be wise to keep the age difference under 5 years, in my opinion.

depends on how old you are... if you are under 18 then keep the gf/bf under 18. when you are an adult it's not that big of deal. My 1st husband was 20 older than me and we loved each other til death did us part. he died 3 years ago. we were married 22 years
