At least 8 weeks. 10 weeks is better.

8 weeks. And keep in mind that an 8 week old puppy in a pet store has already been away from its mother for a few weeks.

The earliest would be 8 weeks of age. Anything less than that is too early.

it doesn't matter what breed they are, all puppies should stay with their mother until they are around 8 weeks old.
this way, they can learn things from their mother and litter mates that they can't learn by themselves, e.g. bite inhibitions etc

hope that helps
