Wild rice and a vegetable like asparagus or fresh green beans goes great with steak. Mashed potatoes and carrots is always a good, traditional choice, too!

Fresh Asparagus boiled for 3 minutes in salted water. Drain water, place asparagus in iced water (to retail the RICH GREEN color), then wrap, two asparagus stalks in regular Oscar Meyer bacon (or turkey bacon) -coat a non stick pan very lightly with extra virgin olive oil, heat lightly -then place wrapped asparagus into the pan. Leave until the bacon begins to brown -turn over brown the other side. remove from pan and finish with a light sprinkling of Feta cheese and fresh grated Parmesan cheese. Use as much asparagus as you like (the number should be divisible by 2), and half as many slices of bacon. [e.g: 10 stalks of asparagus to 5 slices of bacon].
Enjoy with a glass of sauvignon blanc.

We like mushrooms browned in garlic butter, and then poured over the steak after it is on the platter. Just melt butter and stir in garlic powder, add mushroom slices and brown.
Baked potatoes with butter and sour cream.
Wrap potatoes in microwave plastic wrap, cook on high for 7 minutes in your microwave.
Green beans or green peas or a tossed salad.
Small cup of ice cream or sherbet for dessert.

Ranch beans: pinto beans cooked with some spicy seasonings and a little tomato sauce. (Also available in cans, premade, on the canned bean isle in the market.)
Slice the steak very thin and serve with a homemade salsa with a lot of cilantro. Serve Mexican or Spanish rice with this.
Rice pilaf: rice cooked in beef broth, with parsley, onion, and garlic.
German style: sauerkraut simmered with brown sugar, caraway seeds, and diced green apple.

instead of a baked potatoe, make a baked yam or sweet potatoe, split it in 1/2 and add some butter and garlick salt (if you like garlic) I had that at a restaurant it was awesome!
