You can go to download.com but beware that there are some issues with Vista that need to be fixed. Also some of your hardware may not support some of the new features in Vista. XP is a "tried and true" system since the sp1 and sp2 patches. Check the minimum requirements and be ready to "uninstall" if you start having problems. Vista is still Bata

Microsoft let anyone have anything for free? Which planet are you from? Vista is their latest money making machine. It's a really good one, because a lot of software that runs under XP won't run under it, so they get to sell you upgrades for those as well.

There is no free lunch here. You will just have to go buy the upgrade kit and install it over your XP. To see if vista is going to work on your pc go to http://www.microsoft.com and search for vista.

You cant download Vista for free you have to purchase Vista to be able to Uprgrade your Operating System.

You need the upgrade disk. because Microsoft needs to athenticate it. Also make sure your computer can handle Vista, because There had been some issues.

you just need an upgrade disk which is cheaper than the full version.
