Your childhood life IS over...you're an adult now. If you think it's going to go fast...then cherish each day everyday. Don't live in fear. You have a brand new start now (as an adult). Your life will be determined by the choices you make...and by the people who cross your path. Try to stay around good people(those who can help you make good choices and won't hinder or harm your life). Good Luck !!! Have a HAPPY, PROSPEROUS LIFE !!! Hay !! Maybe it will go by fast..BECAUSE YOU'LL BE HAVING SO MUCH FUN !!!!! lol

Imagine your brain is like the forest. There are pathways that run this way and that. Some of the paths go to places that are negative and scary. A few (they are not that well marked right now) go to healthy and lovely places.

The ones where you have been going are the first set - to negative and unpleasant places, but in going so frequently, you have knocked down the undergrowth and the path is easily travelled. It is familiar territory.

What you must do is start taking the other paths that lead to good thoughts/places all the time. Determine to do so. Knock down the underbrush and widen THOSE paths, and after a few days, the weeds will grow up in the paths that you used to take that were leading to a bad scene. And then they will not be familiar any more, and BINGO, you are thinking more pleasant and more healthy thought.

Well, you asked how to stop thinking a certain way! Go for it.

Did something happen to someone you know at age 18? That could trigger such thoughts.I think it may be that you are a little freaked out because now you are an adult, and now you have to step up to the plate and figure out what you are going to do with the rest of your life.We wait all that time until we can become an adult and sometimes we just aren't prepared for it.Life does not go by THAT fast!!I suggest you enjoy this time in your life! If you keep having these negative feelings, maybe you might need some sort of counsel. One quirky quote has always helped me....it is ' today is the first day of the rest of my life'.It keeps you in balance. Not today is the last day of the rest of my life.See what I mean!!!!All my luck to you.

What you do is find something you love doing and have a passion for. This will uplift your mood tremendously. You will no longer ponder that your life is moving too fast. You will stay focused in the moment. Try different things if you're not sure what you love. Keep experimenting. Life has so much to offer - happiness and fulfillment, without the worry that life is flashing by.
