They expect me to finish up this week by working my regular hours of 6pm-6am. Then Monday they want me there at 6am

I'll get home at 7am Sunday morning and go to sleep, I'll wake up around 4-5pm then I'll have to be back in bed by 9-10p to be to work Monday morning. I should just call in today right?

wimp.... i have worked all three shifts in one week...
the best way to turn your sleep around is to not go to sleep when you get home sunday am.. or maybe take a nap, just dont sleep the whole way.. get up around 12 or 1.. then when night comes, take a sleeping pill/seditive if you have to... if you call out that day, you will just feel the same way the next day.....

Well, if you have a hard time sleeping Sunday night, you'll be really tired Monday morning, but it will be easy to sleep Monday night and get yourself turned around. I would suggest if you are afraid of not being able to sleep Sunday night, don't sleep until 4-5 pm as usual. Get up earlier (like maybe 1 or 2 in the afternoon) and then you'll be tired Sunday night.

Sounds to me like you already volunteered to be flexible with your shifts. Your employer isn't asking you to do the impossible, you just need to be somewhat flexible and get some proper rest. Even though you'd rather be out partying. I would make the effort to get to work and if you really can't function well enough to be there you can deal with that on Monday by being direct with your boss and asking for a shorter day.

You need a break, explain the situation to your employer and ask to start officially on Tuesday. This will give you Monday to catch up on sleep. After that you should be fine. All you can do is ask. Or ...tough it out for one or two days, you won't die. and soon you will adapt to the new working hours. You wouldn't be the first person to have to do this, it's survivable, tough it out if you can't get a break. But don't just take a day off and assume that your boss knows whats in your head. Ask first.

Phrozen Wolf,

I would recommend that you follow the schedule that has been given to you. Sometimes employers have to make schedule changes to suit their needs and are not always in the favor of the employee (after all, this is called work.) Should you decide to call in today, you will only make it obvious that you are doing this for a reason of convenience to your schedule.

I am confident that your cooperation will keep your employer happy and ultimately lead to them not giving you a hard time.

Good luck!

Nope. Life is not always fair, but you need to maintain your work ethic. Calling in will only hurt you in the long run.
