I'm not sure what you mean by "my dog ate her tail." If you mean she actually bit a piece off and literally ate it, I'd say get her to the vet ASAP and feed her immediately.

But, if you mean what I think you do -- that she's chewing on her tail, that is probably allergies. You still need to take her to the vet to try and find out what she's allergic to (environmental or food allergies). But, for the weekend, you could just call your vet and ask what dose of children's benedryl you can give to relieve her itching.

Btw, the biggest food allergens are wheat, corn, soy and I believe barley so check the ingredients in her food.

Feed her more often, she's obviously starving if she ate her own tail.
