You must be referring to the Bible, wondering if it's true.
I look at the Bible as a history book, with much of what happened proven with the science of historians. As for the God in the Bible, was he really divine, or was he some alien that interferred with the affairs of humanity, along with other extra-terrestrials (angels?)? If you look in the book of Ezekiel, you'll read how the Chariot of God came down from the heavens to him. The description sounds like some kind of flying aircraft. Why would God need some kind of chariot?
Also in Exodus, God led Moses and his people into the wilderness with columns of smoke during the day, and columnms of fire during the night. Flying aircraft maybe?
Pretty strange when you think about it.
Even if they were extraterrestrials, this does'nt mean there is'nt no God. I don't believe we exist because of some chemical accident. If this is so, then why have morals, mercy, etc. ? Why not get whatever we want without worry of divine consequences, no matter who gets hurt? If the Earth blows up, would the universe care? What would be the point of life then?
There must be more than just existing. May the search go on.

Religions may differ in practice but at the most basic level there is a belief in something bigger than one's self, be it an ethereal being or an idea.

Science does not have any answers at all. Instead, science has responses to the world around us in the best way we can understand at this moment. Science is fluid and allows for change even if it hurts. Never ever say that science has answered anything. It is an evolving story like any other, but more tangible at least.

Also don't forget that the bible says nothing. It only says what people interpret or desire it to say. In fact, it can be said that the bible has never uttered a word of its own, but is sure has been misunderstood.

The being we call "God" is a whole family from another race that is more technologically advanced than we are. The family consists of a Mother (the one we SHOULD be calling God - the one that created the Earth and all life on it), the Father (the one we currently call God but only because we live in a male dominated society), the Daughter (she used to be called Death and is in charge of souls and their movement) and two Sons, one that took over the job of Death from his Sister and the other Brother that interacts the most and likes to mess with our lives.

Science is a tool that bears out everything we know about God, as long as ignorance does not take the place of true understanding. Hidden within most ancient religious texts are formulas and recipies and diagrams and more that show the validity of science and math and more and point that the way of the future is to merge the spiritual with the mystical and the scientific.

Buddhism actually addresses this question. They say there was no creator besides evolution, but they do not say (as has been popularly assumed) that God does not exist. They simply say that God was born somewhere, someplace just like us. Maybe God was born at the time of the big bang? Maybe he was born before that time 13 billion years in the past? Maybe he had a hand in creating this universe from the big bang?
The real point here is the Buddha did not go on and on about God because he thought that this was keeping people from trying to grow and evolve in their own right.
In other words, save yourselves, do not expect God to do it for you. The early Christians made sure to state that you cannot be saved without Jesus or God. That is like a union mentality; you cannot ship goods without the Teamsters Union.
If God saves you, then where is the growth for you? This is not to say that Buddhists did not ask God's help, because God's compassion and patience and tolerance is depended on in Buddhist scriptures, and it is these qualities that a Buddha manifests.
I think it is not so important to know where and how God originated. It is eminently more important for all of us to try to determine when and why we were born, and if we actually exist.

Religion is man made rituals, regulations and rules and is flawed.

Christianity (following Christ's teachings) is total freedom from the above mentioned.

Yes I have wondered about the whole God story. If people claim they haven't they are lying. Even though I choose to believe I do have my doubts at times. Sometimes I think it is downright bizarre.

I try not to think about the "who created God" thing because it doesnt make any sense to our human minds. You will NEVER get an answer to that one. Just CHOOSE to believe in God and accept Jesus as your savior.

Science has more answers because you can see it with your eyes. That is simple. Christianity isn't for wimps. It takes a lot of guts and faith to believe in something you can't see let alone turn your life over to that invisible being. It is all by faith and faith alone. Everything God has to offer is beneficial for us and the right way to go.

(1) Certainly MANY people WONDER (not "wander") about God. I am no longer one of those. I have accepted the love and mercy of the one true God, and salvation of my eternal soul thru His Son, Jesus.

(2) Uh, they DON'T "look to be the same" at all.

(3) Science does NOT have "more answers than anything out there". Science is LOADED with theories. And, there's probably "more answers" here on R&S in a single day than in "Science". Of course, not many are "true"...but then again, how many in "Science" are "true"?

(4) "Who created GOD"? God has always existed and will always exist. It's called a "mystery" since we can't truly understand the nature of God.

Yes, I wondered that back when I was in high school... and the more I learned, the less I believed. Now I am proud to say that I am an atheist and free from the bonds of imaginary friendship.

In what way do the religions first seem the same and then don't? Also, what does that have to do with science? Not sure what your point or question is.
