Sort of....
The UK has several military installations within the US, most are shared with US forces.
The RAF shares 2 USAF bases 1 in Arizona and 1 in California for training.
The Army has an installation at Fort Bragg for co-operational purposes and a training HQ in southern Washington state.
The Royal Navy has 2 jetty's at the US Naval base in Pearl Harbor, used for supply and stop overs, and shares the US Nuclear Submarine base on the East Coast.
There are also around 1000 British service personnel at the Pentagon, 200 attached to US Air Force Space Command
based at Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station and around 50 attached to NORAID

The closest permanant base is Goose Bay, Canada.
There are plenty of detachments and pilot exchanges as well. The RAF is the only non-US air arm that has pilot exchanges on every single US aircraft, including the F117, the F22 and the B2.
I agree with you though, its a one way deal. The RAF does take part in Red Flag though. No other foreign nation does.
The RAF though shutdown most of its major overseas stations, Laarbruch, Brugen, Wildenrath, Decimamannou, etc so it cant afford to run another major base on its own in the US. I am sure the US government would allow it though. Otherwise, we retake Lakenheath, Mildenhall and Fairford.

The RAF are frequently training at Nellis Air Base in Nevada near my home. Many of them I've spoken to are quite happy to be working with American air crews in the UK and here. As the U.S. is closing bases in Germany because the Soviet threat has ended, I'm certain there will be some downgrading of bases in the UK as well. I recall that Holy Loch is closed for use by our Navy and so is the old Navy Radio Station in Northern Ireland. Over the next ten years other U.S. facilities will be closing in other parts of Europe as well. Then the carping of the trade unions and labor parties will be heard as the nationals in those countries lose their jobs. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

No, but they do train here, have port visits, and work with us. America has bases in the UK because, as in WW2, if there was a problem in Europe we would be expected to honor our treaty agreements. Having the bases there means that personnel and equipment are already in place, already familiar with the environment and already used to working with the host nation.

Nah, the only reason there are any US bases here is because of WW2. They came then and were allowed to stay as the cold war set in.

No, America can protect itself quite effectively.
However, many Brits come here to be trained by the US Air Force. But they have no bases.
