Well, the one that really made a difference was a certified nurse midwife I had during my last pregnancy. She was truly inspiring, brilliant and compassionate and comforting. I was so impressed with how she did her job, that I decided I wanted to model my career after her, be a leader like her.

My Mom was a nurse. She helped me get a job in the hospital, which introduced me to the environment and many capable nurses.
In a short time I figured out which nurse had it right, and followed her path.

I have seen true compassionate nurses (and CNA's for that matter) take awesome care of my aged mother.

Nurses who actually have love and warmth for the patients they take care of are in it because they love what they do; not because of a paycheck!
