The mental health system has changed, there are hardly any long term hospitalizations anymore. You go to a hospital to get stabilized, then go to outpatient Tx for longer term support. Are you on Antidepressants? And do you take them? Then talk to your local mental health center about groups available.

Don't you have a local Mental Health Center in your area? Go to them and tell them you have Medicaid and need to voluntarily go to a mental hospital for help. I don't know why they would refuse..they're always wanting to put people in there...esp. if they have insurance. Don't wait until it's too late. I think you have to have a dr. referral..so find a dr. who will do that for you. Maybe you just need a good anti depressant...or an anti psychotic drug. Good Luck PS...You must be really really bad off if you're WANTING to go to a state hosp. It's no "day spa"..so don't be expecting to go there to "relax" and get massages.

Just go and check yourself in. Once they hear your story they will agree you need help. Better to get it sooner than later though.

I hope you get the help you need and Fast! Good Luck!

If you are an adult in your state you can commit yourself to a state institute.
I believe they monitor you over 3 to 5 days.
