NO--she won't abandon the kitten even if you'd picked it up. Cats do NOT normally do this. This is something that BIRDS do if there is the slightest human scent on them, but not cats or dogs. Although, she WILL most likely give the little one a good bath/cleaning. Don't be too worried. The kitten will be fine.

No, cats do not typically behave that way. We had a Ferrel cat give birth in our backyard. We were able to get close to the kittens and even pet them as they got older. The mom cat still nursed them and loved them. The kitten should be fine.

Well, if its a stray there is no reason it should be in the wild. Call the Humane Society or Animal Control, because they might want to do something about it.

the mother probably wont abandon it if doesnt have a huge sent of human on the kitten.

No, she won't. Your taking the kitten away and then bringing it back may cause her to be confused about if it's hers or not, but this won't do it.
