think hard alcohol is called "spirits?" It's because after a certain
level of consumption the alcohol lowers the energetic field of your
personality to where other spirits can enter your body.
When the alcohol wears off and your level of consciousness rises again
the spirit pops out of the body. This is why people report being drunk
and blacking out. They don't remember dancing on the table naked
because their spirit wasn't the one in the body dancing naked. Haven't
you ever seen someone you know act like a totally different person
when they're drunk? Well, this is whats happening.
So you can see how you can easily forget who you truly are while
getting seduced by the daily distractions you face each day. But with
a little conscious effort and focus on what and who matter most in
your life you'll reconnect with the spirit that you are."

After reading your answers as to why alcohol is called "spirits" I've come to the conclusion that you all are drinking way too many "spirits"! The fact of the matter is rather simple, when alcohol is distilled and drips it appears to vanish, disappears if you will, vanishes........... just like a spirit!

It goes back to the origins of distilling, some 5,000 years ago. The thinking was that they were removing the spirit from the grain and transferring it the resultant liquid. Since the distillate containd the spirit of the grain (or fruit) the distillate was called a spirit.

back in mid evil times they thought drunkenness was spirits were taking over the body

because one minute your spirits are up and having fun the next minute your spirits are down and then the crying in your beer kicks in and then the pass out spirit takes over and its lights out.

The obvious-they make you full of spirit. It also has to do with evaporation.
