...so that no one has any questions as to when to start teaching them the faith? Why not find out psychologically when the earliest date would be? Before that age, OK to leave them home with a sitter, they're covered. And starting at age X, start teaching them about the choice they have to make. Just make it a standard across the board so everyone knows.

Most people who answered did not understand what you meant by the “age of reason”.

Many Christian believe in “age of reason’” that is generally considered to be the age at which God begins to hold a child accountable for his or her actions, such that the child is capable of committing sin that God reckons to the child's account.

The Bible teaches that we are all conceived and born in sin and are by nature deserving of God's wrath (Psalm 51:5, 58:3, Ephesians 2:1-3, etc.). The Bible is absolutely crystal-clear that all children are sinners from conception. We are also born guilty because we inherit the guilt of Adam's sin.

According to the Bible, sinfulness is not a condition that comes upon people when they are old enough to choose to do evil. It is the condition of the entire human race and every conception brings into being a sinful life.

We should teach our children the Word of God from the very beginning and trust that the Holy Spirit will do the work of Grace in their heart as He sees fit, and they will never know a time when did not trust in Christ alone for their salvation.

Because everyone's different, and that would leave the responsibility up to the people. These are the same people who dump motor oil down the drains, gamble, drink to excess and run up their credit card debt. The majority of the population wouldn't buy it.

I think everyone kind of startes when they are born. You learn about special holidays and stuff from birth so honestly I think that you really start at birth and not when you go to a school or something for that.

I think the best time to talk with your kids is when they are 5-6 years old (this also goes for sex education), as they actually understand things then, and have not yet gone to school ,where "other" opinions creep in.

lol@ mistress woo- i answered that question too!

no, we shouldn't standardize things, nor is it even a reasonable suggestion. the simple fact is that everyone develops at a different rate. we have to adjust on an individual basis and teach kids (and adults) accordingly.

Religion should not be pushed on children at any age. People should be educated about it and it should be taught as the mythology that it is through the school system and religious schools should not be recognized as legitimate educational institutions.

Nope, because standardization doesn't create smarter or more faithful people it puts creative people in boxes.
