You'll have a problem. For one, she might not like the other cat's scent and she will mark. Also, night time will be a problem, since this is when she is used to being up and active. So, you may not get much sleep. You might try introducing her to just one room first to see how she reacts. Also, you'll need a separate litter box. Good luck with your new family member!

I don't think you'll be able to bring in the stray cat especially if it's timid. You could try opening the door to your house and having the food inside so the cat will have to come inside.

Let her in, and keep them separately at first. Then gradually introduce them and let them smell each other. There will be some hissing and fighting. Try feeding them together, to associate each other's presence with food. After the hissing stops, let them be together for some time, but supervise them. Soon they will be able to be together. It will be wise, before you do that, to
1. take the stray cat to the vet for de-fleaing, de-worming and vaccinations
2. neuter/spay both cats. But don't let them be together when they have stitches, tehy could rip them.

I have an indoor cat and a cat showed up and I adopted her. She became my indoor/outdoor cat and I had her spayed. She comes in or stays out during the day and sleeps out/roams at night. Maybe your adopted cat can be an indoor/outdoor cat.

Well, good luck. Cats are notorious for getting what they want.
Keep the door closed and make sure she doesnt get by you.
If you can, use a negative punishment if she heads toward the door. Like a spray bottle of water in the face...the water, not the bottle. lol

Have it spade or neutered first then have him defleaed at the pet boutique where they clean and trim them up, you have a litter box for multi-cats and you are good to go.
