It is their doctrine that is in question. They have beliefs that are based on a Man (Joseph Smith) who abused his rights by breaking the law, multiple marriages, and shady practices of self professed knowledge that no once can verify. Such as magic under garments, becoming a God of your own world, etc. This is just the tip of concerns that the religion has based itself on.

I don't know about " everyone", but I am not against Mormons. I love them in the Lord, but, I don't happen to believe their doctrine, because it has no basis in the Bible, and the Bible is the bench mark in these matters. In the Bible, there is NO prophet named Joseph Smith, who , by the way was a self proclaimed past grand master in the Masonic Lodge. He encorporated a lot of the rituals in the Masonic Lodge into the Book of Mormon. None of this is Scriptural. The Mormons are good people who choose not to believe the way of salvation as laid out by the Holy Inspired Word Of God.

Because the haters like to relate us to that sicko Warren Jeffs. We don't believe the same things he believes, but the other "Christian" denominations that like to spread hate and cntepmt would have the whole world beleive that we are all the same. Honestly, we aren't allowed to grow as a church like everyone elses, we put an end to polygamy and let every worthy male member hold the priesthood, and that we didn't always is still thrown in our faces. I don;t know why it is that way, but I'll believe that we are the most intolerant church in the world when there is a female pope.
Thank you though, for you decent question and benefit of the doubt, you don't know how good it is to hear form someone who forms their own opinon based on research, not on the wine of sour grapes...

If you read and study Mormon beliefs and do so with an open mind, and begin your study with an unbiased attitude, most rational people will see a lot of good, a lot of truth, and a lot doctrine that is of Christ.
Others do not take the time to study it in such an unbiased way. To them goes the misfortune of rejecting that which can uplift and edify.

I think it is fear, mixed with misunderstanding. They don't understand our doctrines, or even want to, and that makes it so they don't have the proper perspective as to what we really believe.

Another fact is what they have been told by people either in an authorative position, or people who have left the church. Since they either don't really understand, or only have been told certain aspects of what we believe, they don't get the full picture, or they hate the church so much, they are willing to say anything and twist doctrine to make it better for them. I think some of those people who have left the church may feel a little guilty about it, or don't want to admit that it might have been their problem, not the churches.

We are different from most churches out there, but our message is one of peace, love, joy and faith in Christ as our savior, friend, brother and mediator.

Thank you for your question, and for sticking up for us. It's nice to know there are people out there that don't care what you believe.

There will always be opposition to the gospel - as long as satan is around...

I love the gospel - I am Mormon and have been my whole life. If people actually took the time to find out what we REALLY believe and not judge from anti-mormon sites, they would find we are very spiritual, loving people just trying to live the gospel God has put before us.

Basically its miss understanding. But also its ex members who have fallen away from the church or have been offended and then they make it there life long goal to bash the church. Or if the Church beliefs don't match there own then automatically its got to be bad. You get the idea.

mormons are "good people".
they're just a little messed up in their beliefs.
that's what happens when someone makes up their own religion.

blessings.

Their beliefs are fine. But pastors and other church leaders can not afford their flock to leave. Cha-Ching $$...So they twist and turn their beliefs to scare people away.
