If my teenager was traveling with her classmates for an exchange trip or something like that, then yes I would. But every parent is different and you should respect their decision.

If I could afford it and thought that my teenage daughter would benefit from this experience then I most certainly would. If at the time things were a bit tight financially then I would be honest with her and tell her that at the present time we couldn't afford this trip. I never went to school that often and dropped out early so never got to experience these trips. But my wife went to Europe with her high school and she talks about her experiences to this day.

I honestly don't think there is one answer. It depends on the teenager. Some are more responsible or earned trust and freedom. That doesn't mean that if you aren't allowed that you aren't responsible or that you don't deserve freemdom to make your own choices. parent's don't get everything right. But I hope that I can send my kids to see places beyond their backyard. I think it's selfish for a parent to keep their kids by their side just because it makes them feel better.

I'm facing that right now with my daughter. Sometimes parents afraid for there child to go away to another country specially right now with whats going on in the world. you love your children so much you want to keep them safe, there not trying to be mean or hurtful there just being parents .

NO! what can they do if u get hurt or kidnapped? Jump on a plain chasing after you. Respect your parents while your under their ruff. They love u, it is their obligation to protect you. They can not do that if your in other parts of the world.. Travel when your an adult, if you can not travel with your family.

I am a parent and NO I would not. Not after the Halloway deal in Aruba. But I would consider going on the trip with my child as a chaparone. Then we would both be happy. She could go and I would be able to watch out for her.

as a parent , the way the world has been latly im not sure , and maybe im being over protective , but if something would happen to my child way off i would never get over the fact that i might not could get there just knowing they were so far away would kill me. so id rather be over protective. and i can at least until their of age.

Nope, only because I would not trust the group taking her to the other country.
I trust my daughter but I do not trust a group of people I do not know taking her to another country.
If she were with a family member or someone I trusted I wouldn't have as big of a problem with it..
