THE JEFFS ARE NOT LDS PROPHETS!!(I dunno who lorenzo snow, herber j. grant, or leroy s. johnson are)
Polygamy was banned by the church in 1890....why can't we just leave it alone?

You information is inaccurate. Rulon Jeffs, Leroy Johnson, and Warren Jeffs are NOT members of the LDS Church. The LDS Church disavowed polygamy back in 1890. Anyone who practices it is excommunicated from the LDS Church.
Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, John Taylor did practice it as it was a commandment before 1890. Many more women were joining the church in those days and had no chance of finding a husband and support. Polygamy was instituted then to help with that issue. Now, such is not the case. Polygamy is not practiced by the Church.
Those that do are excommunicated and are not Mormons. They are of their own church. Which does not make them Mormons.

One error you made, you listed LDS prophets and you put Warren Jeff, you know he isn't an LDS prophet right?
And you also do know that the FLDS does not follow some things in the book of mormon, or things taught by Joseph Smith either?
It is very simple to look up the differences between the two.

The last three have not affiliation with the LDS church at all, except to claim to be fundimentalists. That should give you some clue as to why they aren't part of the church. They couldn't take the fact that God wanted to change something and that it was against the law. Warren Jeffs is a horrible guy, who has no communication with God. He is no prophet. He may say he is, but unless he has the proper authority, he's just a guy claiming to be a prophet. Sorry, but we don't practice polygamy anymore, and haven't for over 100 years. There were reasons behind that, but I'm guessing that you really don't care what they are. If you really do, here's a site for you.

Leroy Johnson, Rulon Jeffs, and Warren Jeffs ARE NOT MORMONS!
ie, they are not members of "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints"
NO Mormon today (prophet, new convert, life-long member, etc) can be a polygamist and still be a Mormon.
Jeffs and Johnson are leaders of very small sects with a few dozen members. They are not Mormons and their acts are not consistent with the teachings of the Mormon Church.
Abraham was a polygamist....does that mean that all christians can and should be polygamists??? God reveals his will and his law through his prophets. He always has, he always will. God instructed Joseph Smith to practice polygamy, and later he commanded that the practice ceace.
You should probably go have a talk with God and have him tell you whether or not Smith was one of His prophets.

Leroy Johnson, Rulon Jeffs and Warrren Jeffs are not prophets or even members of the LDS church - they belong to the FLDS church...please don't confuse the two because their beliefs and doctrines aren't that similar.
You need to read the Official Declaration 1 given by President Woodruff at the time plural marriage was stopped.
For one, it is against the law, that would be my guess as to why we do not practice plural marriage anymore...

Umm... well first off, maybe you should learn to differentiate between LDS and FLDS. They aren't the same! LDS are mormons, FLDS aren't! Leroy Johnson, Rulon Jeffs, and Warren Jeffs are FLDS "prohpets", and the rest of prophets you listed were LDS. LDS aren't polygamist. Trust me, I'm LDS... I think I would know if I was polygamist or not.

What i want to know is- Why was polygamy okay before 1890 but not not now? I understand the LDS church no longer practices it b/c of Utah state laws but they believed in it prior to 1890. How do they justify that? In fact, i think ill ask this.

Wrong. Wrong. SO wrong.
Any time a man has sexual relations with a woman when he is only doing for HIS gratification, and cares nothing for the woman, THAT is sins of the flesh. I don't care if they ARE married. The last three men you mention fit this category.
However, when a man MARRIES a woman, no matter how many, and he treats them as Paul said, as Christ loves the church, then there's no sin. The first five men you listed fit this category.
