Im a 42 year old woman whos been seperated for a year and wants to start dating again. Ive tried nightclubs but they are not really for me. Would joining one of the many dating sites be a way to meet someone or just 'sad'?

Little Angel, personally I can attest that these sites can work out. I found the woman that I married on line a little over 4 years ago. At the time I felt like the biggest loser in the world using this form of communication to meet people but dam it worked. All I will say though is be careful with how much personal info you share with others. There are lots of users and losers on there but hopefully you won't get involved with any of them. So be wary but give it a try. What's the worse thing that can happen, you meet someone who makes you happy and spend the rest of your live together. Ha! Just kidding hope that you are also able to find a suitable partner on a site and take caution when talking with strangers.

If all ladies thought it was SAD I wouldnt have met The Love of my Life. She was of a similar age and situation to Yourself and luckily for me have umed and ared for a time deceided to try a site 'LYCOS' which was free 'I dont know if it still is',
I to be honest only went on for a laugh and to see what it was like. We met online, offline, moved in together and the rest as they say is history.
Follow the normal safety guidelines keep an open mind, remember people can lie online but then they can if you meet face to face in a Pub.

I don't think it's sad. Surely at 42 it's got to be better than touring the nightclubs every weekend and getting hit on by a bunch of drunk adolescent males.

No i don't someone i know went on a dating site found their now fiancee and has never been happier. A dating site is just a great way to meet Mr right wherever he is in the world

No, not at all. We're all in this life to make ourselves as happy as we can. Be careful, follow dating 'rules'. Let somebody know where you are going and who you're going with and what time you expect to return and be careful what you tell others about yourself, including your full name and address.

In my opinion, it is a bit sad but I won't judge people on that.
I guess there aren't very many places a 42year old woman can go to to meet new people.

its not sad at all many people join dating sites all the time and most of all are women
so i say go out there and join a dating site and find someone you never know who's out there

Go for it! Don't worry about other people because they are probably doing the same thing you are doing. Sometimes you just have to go for what you want. Dating sites offer busy people a chance to meet without having to go through the hassles.

definitely not..just dont' go into it expecting to find someone or jumping at the first person that you chat to...just like with meeting people normally, it takes time....i was chatting to 2 people (from a dating website) and thought one was the perfect guy for me..we seemed to get along great..the other oneseemed boring. after meeting them both, it was the opposite..i say try anything! it's not easy to meet people. goodluck :D
