It's a clean and perfect way for them to go to the bathroom and not worry about anything "getting/attacking them from outside".
Have a terrific weekend. Patti

Because outside they would dig a hole in the dirt and go to the bathroom there. Then they will cover it up so that predators cannot smell it or them.

This is the same reason they "bury" their food, if you've ever seen a cat act like he's covering his food with "air" dirt, this is why. So others won't come around and steal his dinner for later. :)

We provide a litter box because they need to dig and bury their waste. It's the way they are in nature.

Umm, because it's their toilet. You'd never move into a house that doesn't have a bathroom in it. Cats need a litter box to poop and pee in.

It is safer, for cats to life inside. Litter boxes are for them to go to the bathroom. It is the easiest way, for them to go to the bathroom.

They are house cats and ppl has domesticated them to do that. I would guess if they weren't house cats and was allowed outside and trained like dogs to go outside they would.

If they're indoor cats, they need a place to 'go'. I've heard that cats can be trained to use the toilet, but I haven't tried it.

Well it is their nature to dig a hole, use it and bury their poo/pee afterwards. So being a indoor kitty they need a spot to go do their business, they are not like dogs where you can train them to ask to go outdoors when they need to go...plus have you smelled kitty poop? It is extremely smelly, my mom always told me cats buried it cause it smelled so bad to them they didn't want to smell it.

Because cats will go boom boom in corners, showers, under you bed, ect. Unless you train it to use the tololet, or it goes outside.
