okay, first off i am 14 years old.
i am a freshman in high school.
i currently live with my grandparents, and they say im too young to start dating.
what is your opinion on this???
why do they think 14 is too young?
i mean i REALLY like this guy and he makes me feel loved important wanted etc etc etc
how can you put an age limit on being happy?

My opinion is that it's all up to your grandparents....and coincidentally they are right!
Don't take teen love seriously. It's just practice for adult relationships. You'll only hurt 1000 times if you do.
And believe me, when a boy says he loves you, he's really saying let's go to bed....so be careful.

Okay, to start with :
Every guy around your age is going to want to get into your pants and your grandparents know this.
You have to convince your grandparents you won't let this happen.
For now, they might let you do things in a group (6 or more people) like go to the movies, bowling, etc., and you could see this "Boy" at these events.

You think your grandparents don't know? They not only been there they've raised kids before.
I have a 15 yr old went through this. Mom finally gave in
shes fairly repsonsible. But not when it comes to dating shes not old enough.
She made all the usual promises. Shes had sex like she said she wouldn't. Often is late getting in like she said wouldn't. Has thought she was preg. twice. though said if she did have sex she would use protection.
Now the rite has been taken away she feels mom wronged her. and blames us. I never thought she should have had it.
Horemones take along time to learn to controll or even get close to understanding. all you see is one side. and to you, you haven't changed much sense 3rd grade.

Well grandparents are grandparents, and they're gonna worry about you. But 14 is a perfect age to start dating. my parents started dating when they were 14 and they've been married for 28 years now. Try to calmly talk with your grandparents, and give them reasons you think you're ready. Tell them how mature you are, and if you're ready for high school, you're ready for a boyfriend. High school can be touhg too! Good luck! =]

i was 14 when i met my boyfriend and i have been with him for 2 years. i think 14 is a fine age its just you need to make sure you actually are happy and you don't make the wrong decisions. go for it, but don't get led into things you don't want to do, there are age limits for OTHER things!

you can date at any age (but over 12 is better)
they are just probably something bad will happen and trying protect you.

Yeah, it seems like you should be able to date in highschool. Just explain that to them.

Your definately old enough. My friends and I even started dating at 13, and some people even have babies when they are 14! But, what really matters is if you feel mature enough, and if you need more time dont feel pressured.

im 15 i never liked dating i rather have friends or a boy friend. cause if your just friends for a while you get to know the person and if they or u like them then u can ask them out. i think u can have a boy friend when u can handle one
