I have studied many religions, cults, and schools of thought and feel satisfied and fulfilled with my Spirituality. It seems like every explanation is different, with the same spiritual feeling inside. We all have the ability to find, explore and nurture our own internal Spiritual self ...How do you explain yours, and what conflicts do you experience??
This question is for a celebration of diversity, not a forum to convince others that they are wrong and how you descibe yours is the ONLY way, please, but if you post your Way with love and kindness, others who read it may be inspired in their journey!

Jesus taught continually that we must search and gain knowledge. He did not limit this to religion. Gaining knowledge was a focal point of his lessons. One does not have to be a Christian to take this lesson and use it. He also felt Doubting Thomas was a favorite. Reasoning is because as Thomas continued to doubt, it kept God on his mind. He was, in other words, continually thinking about God. As a result, I have no conflicts in my spiritually. I do not go to Church and do not believe everything is in the Bible is meant to be literal. They are stories showing examples. Times were very different then from what they are now. Women were not regarded as anything important and did not take part in the Church or Temple. The basic lessons that Jesus taught are simply a good way to live your life. Kindness, caring, helping, enjoying, and most of all, (in my humble opinion) forgiveness. If you cannot forgive, you best not ever need it yourself. Remember Judge not, lest you be judged.

I know what you mean. No one likes being bashed over the head , so to speak, with the religeous thoughts of others.

I will tell you my story, and let you judge for yourself. I was raised in a Christian home, and when I was a teenager( others accept sometimes much younger) , I felt my life just wasn't what I wanted it to be. So I invited the :Lord Jesus into my life, and from then on my life has been better. Now this isnt to say I dont have problems, because I do. However, I feel I have someone to turn to, to talk to, when no one person wants to listen. And my Lord always helps me to find the answer, a solution to my problem. Some solutions take time in coming, but come they do. I listen to that little voice which is inside all of us. And because this voice is from my creator, it helps me to do the right thing.

Thanks for listening.

looking back I see my life as a non stop search for truth/meaning

when born my parents soaked this up and gave me evangelical christian pentecostal jesus

later after many disappointments and no rapture, I began to look elsewhere

so far, the only answer I have is it's a never ending school and learning experience, I keep chaning views based on info and experience of what is true for me

as a current atheist, I wonder about spirituality, not about a deity, just the need for wholeness and peace of mind, and focussing on what is, to include myself

kind of an awakening to "me" seeing me as worth worshiping or serving over some claim and religion to obey others in a cause that puts my life as secondary to their mission that never ends but costs me my own

I now am seeking more meditation, listening and fostering an environment to sublimate what is, not what I wish to be true or in existence

existentialism and buddhism are currently my interests
