Man, I remember those days and how miserable it made my weekend just knowing that at some point I HAD to do it...I needed a few hours dedicated to homework, I had NO choice. So, I would end up putting it off, waiting until Sunday night and then...I REALLY didn't want to do it...all in all, it just made for a miserable weekend.
BUT THEN, I finally learned the trick...if you MUST do it, if you're on a deadline, then set aside the time on Friday night (or, worst case, Saturday morning)...that's what I did....I just set my mind to it and got it done....and boy, the rest of the weekend was great, knowing I had "finished all my chores."
So, like that redneck dude says....just "GET 'ER DONE!!""

Ok so I have a crazy schedule. 2 jobs, 13 hours of college classes, and am involved in a student organization on campus. Being a science major I get tons of homework and have to do lots of studying. However, I still have plenty of time for other activities and fun. At first it was a little tough to manage but here is how I handle things now: I make a schedule of my week. Each day is divided into hour time blocks. I put in all my classes. Then I start filling in due dates of homework assignments or tests I need to study for. Then I know exactly how much time each day I have available to study/do homework. I fill in blocks with the assignments I will work on. Sometimes I deviate from my schedule but I set time to do all of my homework so that way on the weekends or whenever I have an activity I want to do I know I can make it by organizing my homework around that time.

I know the feeling. It's really crap. What you could try to do is prioritise your homework, i.e what's needed tomorrow, what's needed on Monday and work according to that. Sometimes it's overwhelming the amount of homework. I have a schedule for it. 45 minutes for a piece of homework, then I do something fun for the next 45 minutes. So maybe I don't get all of it done but at least I've kept my brain from blowing a fuse.

You need to prioritize your work. Is there any breaks during the school day or during lunch you can get some done. It is best to start with the least favorite and do the stuff you like last.
You may just have to much on your plate and need to drop some of your other activities. Homework should always come first.

Coming from someone when he was young didn't work on his homework as he should have...
Trust me when I say... for the years you are in school...
Concentrate on your school work first. Treat other activities as second. That does not mean to ignore them but doing better in school really does matter in the long run. Not all of the stuff you are learning is important but the fact that you can show that you were able to do the research and buckle down and do the work matters.
Doing well in grade school does help you get into better programs in high school. Doing better in high school and taking on more challenging programs in high school does help you get into better colleges and prepares you better. Being prepared for college and knowing how to buckle down and do the work will help you get through college better and will line you up for a better job.
Or you can not worry about any of this and go be a laborer (and I don't mean that as a bad thing...) but understand the trade off. In most (not all there are no guarantees) cases... better schooling means less physically demanding jobs that take more thought and typically (but not always) pay better. Less school means more physically demanding jobs that require less knowledge and tend to pay less.
If your needs and desires are simple then don't worry about it. Otherwise you need to make sure you understand your priorities... Best of Luck

get organised. create a space that is for homework ony. do your homework as soon as you get home. don't let other things distract you from the homework or it will take longer. once you get into a routine, you'll knock out the homework with ease. I know that many schools are giving out way mre homework than they used to, but its just something that you have to deal with. homework is a major part of your grade, and if you don't do it, the good work that you do in class will be meaningless. Good luck.

Get the homework done, and then you can do other stuff.
If you are finding that you can't get the work done, draw up a timetable (with the help of your teacher) to make sure you are getting a good balance of study and relaxation.

You have no choice, sit down and do it. I hated that when I went to school. It's hard but a necessary evil to get out of school. Teachers can be so thoughtless at times. They need to learn that actual teaching is much better than lots of homework. You can't learn much when you are struggling to get so much done.
