All Jewish people have a right of return. Understand? You actually have to go there to claim citizenship. You need to prove a direct blood relationship through the female, not male, line. All Jews know this.

I don't know if there is some inside joke going on or not. But is this true? All you have to do to get Israeli citizenship is prove you are Jewish?

Yes you can. My friend from Cal. who I met in Budapest moved to Israel with her husband and the Israeli government even paid their way to Israel from Budapest. She had to show some papers that she was Jewish first and also her son got to go to Jewish school in Hungary for free after she could prove her background. She needed some sort of papers that her mom had before they would even talk to her at the school, after she showed the paperwork to them, they talked to her she said that part was strange because she never practiced her religon and didn't know they were so serious about paperwork.

I think you can't be a Jew by blood, I think you have to be a Jew by conviction (as in faith, not as in criminal conviction). They are tightening that because of some neo-nazis they let in, but I don't think they have changed the rule yet.
