Just two things
I love the Backstreet Boys LOL!
It is not cool to answer questions stupidly, rudely, and idiotically.

And one more ?
Do you know what the songs/hymns mean if they are in another language?

most of our worship is somewhat like that. we read the Qur'aan like hymns & read it also in our pray
u can listen to some here in arabic. i think u would like it very much even though u dont know arabic :)
http://openquran.de:8000/listen.pls
actually i like it better than back street boys! lol (although it makes me cry rather than laugh, but i like it anyway)
peace :)
EDIT: i appreciate ur politeness (NOT)
i don't love back street boys that is why it is "lol", but i tell u i love it better than modern music.
second, i understand every word in it. i know arabic very well. i don't have such hymns in english for u. i only wanted u to imagine about how Qur'aan could b read as hymns. yet, if u wanna know the meaning read the translation of Qur'aan in english it is world-wide
at last keep polite while talking to others, & leave ur opinion gently. try to b more modern!!!
esp. that i did nothing wrong to u, & have my explanation.

Some Muslims perform songs called nasheeds or nazams. However, this is NOT a form of worship. It is simply a glorification of God and the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH.) These songs are performed with a singing voice only, no musical instruments are involved of any sort. They can be sung in any language. Most of the ones I heard are English, Arabic and Urdu. However, in regards to the above poster, the recitation of Quran is also similiar to a hymn. It is often recited in a musical-type tone.

Abi, I understand the Urdu songs because that is my language. I understand a bit of the Arabic ones but not entirely. I really would like to learn though! It's a good idea, so you can understand the Quran in translation as well.

Singing songs or hymns is not done during worship at all.

Before or after worshipping and any time some people sing songs or hymns in praise of God. about his attributes. They also sing poetry praising their Prophet Mohammad SAW.

Muslim worship same God Abraham, Moses, Jesus an all Prophets before them. Islam is a continuous religion preached by all the Prophets mentioned above and many more. It is the follower of religions who named their religions by associating with their nation, race or their Prophet.

Mohammad SAW and God Himself chose to call this religion Islam which means total submission to the Will of God.
In other words living by the rules given by God in divine books.

Muslims believe the early followers of Abraham, Moses and Jesus who worshipped only one God were also Muslims.

Followers lof many religions changed the names of their religion. For example,

1. Judaism after the son named Yahuda of Jacob (peace be upon him)

2. Christianity after Jesus Christ.

3. Hinuism for Hindustan (original name of India). Britisih named Hindustan as India. Hindustan means country of
Hindus.

4. Budhism for Gotam Budh (the founder of this religion)
