Jarrett and UPS to return in 2008 with MWR: Dale Jarrett is puzzled by reports that he could retire at the end of the season. Not only does he plan to continue racing for Michael Waltrip Racing next season, but he also says that sponsor UPS is solidly on board with the #44 team. He also dismisses talk that longtime Jarrett sponsor UPS is considering leaving the team. While he says the company is asking fair questions and keeping an eye on things, he expresses no concern that the sponsor could bolt at the end of this season. As to his own status, the 50-year-old former champion laughed about reports that he could retire at the end of this year. He says that he knew this was going to be a process of building a team and the he remains committed to just that. He wants to build the team to the level that someone will want to replace him when he does decide to stop driving.(SceneDaily.com)(8-17-2007)
I guess that its just like anything else this year in regards to the 2008 goings on such as Jr's new car owner ,new number ,sponsor ,JGR switching to Toyota ,etc...its just a wait and see situation . We'll find out the truth at the start of the 2008 Nascar season .
Nascar has became a circus of rumor's and silly season and it only seems to get worse every year .Its like a tabloid . You find half truth's and total bs .Hahaha!
Team owner's say that they didn't want such and such news out until such and such a time . Well if thats the case then they need to keep the news under lock and key between them and those closely involved.

I haven't heard this I thought he was going to drive thru 2008 with MWR, well if he wants to go out and win a race before he retires maybe he ought to leave and seek another ride...He was great back in his early yrs, I saw him win alot of races.. He does make great commericals for UPS, I think he'll end up as a commentator eventually just like his dad.. Nascar is becoming a sport just like the others its all about youth, its rough for these guys over forty..

Who knows. If I was a big sponsor like UPS and didn't see my car on the track on Sunday I would be looking for a new driver and car. Jarrett as bad as Mikey. Mikey needs to just decide if he wants to be a driver or an owner. He sure can't do both. What UPS needs to do is see if Dale's dad Ned Jarrett would like to get behind the wheel of the 44. Ned would have a better chance of getting that car on the track on Sundays than DJ.

No truth to the report. DJ will be with Mikey again next year. His side of the story leads me to believe that UPS is looking for an improved performance next year, or that gig may be up.

Dale has lost that killer instinct that race car drivers posses while in their prime. Dj hasnt been competetive since 2002 and i dont see things getting better. The older you get, the more you lose your edge and i think DJ is about to fall off that edge.

I don't care much about Dale Jarrett, but I know for a fact he won't be driving # 88 anymore, next year that will be Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s number with Hendrick Motor Sports.
