My friend(who I have a crush on) tells me I'm clingy. I don't really get how I am clingy to him because I try to give him space. We live pretty far away, he lives in Oregan and I live in NY. I talk to him and other friends, sometimes I miss this guy because I can't see him in person ,so we talk on aim or myspace. My defintion of clingy is when you only talk to one person and forget everyone else, try to hang out with that person like 24/7(like I can't do that because he's far), call someone like everyday(we use to talk about everyday, but now I talk less), etc. What is your definition of clingy? I myself don't like clingy or want to be clingy.

clingy... we all define it differently... if he says you are clingy you most prop are - in his view anyway... so here is what I think:
for a while - this might mean a month or so - do not mail him first, let him do the connecting... let him determine the "depth" of your friendship. giving him space does not mean no contact at all.
also make sure you give him the same amount of attention as you give your other buddies - if you only phone them once a week, why call him more... same goes for myspace, online chatting and all that jazz.
Remember that you have a crush on him and therefore you are not completely "objective"...
Be the best friend you can and listen to the warning signs - if he says you are clingy and you do not back off a bit, he will soon tell you to totally disappear, and that will not help you in winning him over :)
good luck girl and hope that soon his eyes will open and he will call you every day and even maybe ask you on a date!

It's really difficult to answer this, because whether you are considered clingy or not depends on the other person' tolerance level of company. I personally require more space than most of my other friends, so my only advice is to take it on a case to case bases. Obviously he needs more space, so it would be best for you to provide that, and perhaps your friendship will blossom from that. Good luck.

If he feels your being clingy than you should stop aiming him as much and just call him maybe once a week since his definition of being clingy is way different than yours. I think you just miss him, but give him more space since he asked.

Have you ever heard of cling peaches? They all cling together in the can and when you open them, there they are, all clinging together. That's my definition of clinginess. I don't think you sound like a cling peach. I think he's being critical. Find a new guy to talk to. Maybe then he'll miss your clinginess and want it back.
