she has a been a Christian for years. She says her dead brother spoke to her and told her that she has things to do on this earth. I have always known her to be an extremely honest person I do believe she had this experience.

My sincere question is this.........What do Christians and non Christians think of this experience? and please say why you believe what you do.

I have heard that also Horton hears a who, but, I noticed that Samuel did talk to Saul (Samuel was Dead) have you read that story? In this case my friend did not "seek out a medium" like Saul did. That was the "sin" according to the OT.

So........even the bible has an example of dead people talking---------even regarding Lazarus in the New Testement.

Hello sister,........As the bible says like sister Jay brings up,........to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord and the dead know not anything,.........these would be your confirmation scriptures.......but their are others also.

A familiar spirit is a demon who identifies itself with another person. We also see similar demon human relationships in the N/T Mathew 9:32. 12:43-45, 15:22, 17: 15-18, Acts 16: 16-18, 19:15-16, 1Timothy 4:1

I have witnessed and had these type of spirits in my home early in my Christian walk,....they actually seem friendly and can decieve you as a good spirit only decieving your heart and what's contrary to the word of God,.....for the dead know not nothing,.......You must understand that these demonic spirits have never taken a flesh body so they have never died,.....they walk to and fro on the earth trying to decive man in lies to thwart the Kingdom of God.

For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood , but against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against those mighty powers of darkness who rule this world,.and against the wicked spirits in the heavenly realms "(Ephesians 6:12)

We must understand they are Real spirits but they are not your dead realitives,....they are imposters,.....remember that Satan is the most cunning of Gods creatures for even he can appear as a Angel of Light (Lucifer the shinning one) decieving many in his deception.

You tell your friend she is not silly for seeing these spirits,....it is natural to witness such things,....tell her that God has given her eyes to see the other dimention but she must use the Word of God to decern the spirit,...it says to try (test) the spirit to see if they are from God,...........Well the dead know not anything,...and to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord should suffice.

And this is how the Body of Christ his Church works together,
we are hear to build each other in the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ!!

For we should be ready in season or out of season to give a answer to those that ask according to the will of our Father.

I'll be praying for your Friend,.. for these are times of testing that we should go to the scriptures to understand the unseen world and how they can influence us unaware if we allow it,.......Remember God has given us his Word which will keep us from stumbling in Darkness,....For the Lord is Lamp unto our feet and a light unto our Path.

Bless you sister, for this is the Church working ""Together""

Your friend and brother in the Lord (Pete)

Peace sister

I don't judge anyone nor any religion. If your friend saw her dead bro or dreamt it or made it up, it's of no matter, as the idea is the same, she now has a mission to help guide her in life.

In essence all (mainstream) religions are the same, be good, look after each other, make the world a better place. It's just some get off track and think they are better than all others.

I once had a friend who swore she saw a fairy dancing on the end of her bed. Who am I to dis her for this? I and you and no one on this planet has ALL the answers and until we do it is far better to keep an open mind to any possibility.

Do whatever realistic to aid him. Like if he'd revel in pictures, become a member of a membership with him. Or cross to night time institution with him and research vehicle upkeep! Just be there and get him out and approximately. I feel that being a Christian is customarily well for self worth. Maybe you might have a phrase with an elder for recommendation too?

One thing we have to remember , we are dealing here on this earth with satan, the master deceiver. Speaking to dead people is not of God. Satan has since the beginning tried to imitate everything that God has done. He has the power to make you believe that this person is talking to you, and your experience is real. But it is not from God.
God says that "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord' and somewhere else the bible mentions that "the dead don't know nothing." If we believe God, we have to believe His Word. Pray about those things and it will stop. I had to deal with a similar situation like that after my daughter died. At that time I was very vulnerable and accepted what satan presented to me. But in one prayer God revealed to me that it was wrong.

She probably experienced something. It's probably impossible to say precisely what it was.

We're just beginning to figure out how the human mind works. Consider this: People have been losing loved ones since our caveman days. Therefore we're well acquainted with grief and what it can do to us. Isn't is possible that the mind has evolved mechanisms to deal with grief? and that certain forms of self-delusion may be among those mechanisms?

After all, h@m@ sapiens couldn't have survived if grief could literally make us all insane.

Speaking with the dead is forbidden in the Old Testament. See the story of Saul and the witch that call forth Samuel from the dead.

From my old Christian beliefs, I'd say that a dead brother communicating is non-Biblical, form Jesus' parables.

As an atheist, I'd say that personal experiences and "spiritual warnings"are highly suspect. This is based on the lack of evidence for ghosts and that personal experience is extremely unreliable.

My identical twin died 17 years ago yesterday.
Shortly after she died, I had a dream in which she came to me and told me that she was in a beautiful place.

A week or so later, I had the same dream, only this time she told me that she would not be returning to visit because she did not want to leave her Heaven.

That ws the most comforting thing ever, to me!

So I believe your friend has been given a precious gift.

I have had two dead people speak to me in dreams about the upcoming deaths of two people I knew. And one alive person.

Both of these were very close friends of mine who had passed on, one of them had passed ten YEARS before he came to me in a dream to tell me that another friend of ours was going to die.

A week later, the friend was dead.

Then another time, a different friend of mine who had passed on just a year or so before, came to me in a dream and told me that someone else I knew was going to die.

Two months later, the death happened.

Once, I had someone who was still ALIVE come to me in a dream and tell me that THEY were going to die, on December 15th, 200*. I saw the last number in the dream but when I woke up, I lost it, couldn't get it back. This person has not died yet, and that dream was 3 years ago.

The last one this happened with, I was so upset about whether I should warn him or not, I didn't know what to do. So I asked everyone I knew "Would you rather know, or not know when you're going to die?" They ALL said they would rather NOT know. So I didn't say anything to the person.

I made everyone nervous just by asking them though, because they all knew about my previous dreams coming true. So I had to tell each one that it wasn't a personal question, just a general one, I was taking a poll.

Then another time, yet another friend of mine had died, and he came to me in a dream but DIDN'T speak. Just smiled in a way that let me know he was fine, and he looked sooo peaceful and perfect.

I know, I've had a lot of friends who have died, but that's what happens when people get older, they start losing friends like that. And family.

I don't know what the deal is with this, why this death dream thing happens. But it does happen, and I can't be the only one out there this happens to. So as far as your friend having her dead brother speak to her, yeah, I believe it's very possible, and nothing to be alarmed about. If her dead brother had told her to go out and murder a bunch of people or rob a bank, THEN I'd be worried that it wasn't really her dead brother, but as far as what you wrote, I wouldn't worry about it.

I'm not a Christian though, I'm Jewish. You asked for Christians AND non Christians to reply.

When a person loves somebody very dearly, such experiences are possible. It is her mind that works these miracles. She could have even seen her brother standing before her and telling her these things.

Do not try to contradict these things. Accept it and that will console her.
