My mom is a Cub Scout leader, here's some of the things she does:
1. Take a bag of Fruit Loops and some yarn. Have the kids make necklaces/bracelets. Even the boys love this one because they get to eat it!
2. Have the kids start up a story. One kid gives a sentence, then the next kid has to add on another sentence, etc. Another thing is to write it down and have the kids draw pics, then staple the papers together to make a book. The parents love that one.
3. Painting is messy, even watercolors, but it's usually the best thing to do! You can paint anything - literally. Or just give them some oversized white tees to paint on. It passes time and the kids are thrilled.
4. There's always the classics - Tag, keep the ball up in the air, hide and seek, etc.
5. Board games - there are tons of kid board games. Candyland and Chutes and Ladders were always favorites of mine :-] oh, and Uno!
6. You could always ask the kids what to do. They usually have some pretty good ideas.
7. Make cookies or something. Kids ALWAYS love to do that.
Well, hope I helped and all goes well for you!

RE: What are some fun games to play with kids while babysitting? During the week, I baby sit a girl at her house, but 7 other kids come over too, and I babysit them all along with a friend from 8am to 4pm. All of them range between the ages of 4-6. What are some fun game ideas that we could play that we don't have to buy, but we can just play? Like hide...

BUBBLES!, memory card games, build a fort out of couch cushions and sheets, dancing, treasure hunt, playdoh (NOT ON CARPET) Bubbles will make a floor slippery, be careful, outside is best, watch that they don't chase them into the street if they're not old enough to know better.
