The error code that I got using "Windows Error Reporting" states that the problem is being caused by hardware.
Technical info: Stop 7F, 0x00000008 (double-fault) error occurs because of a single-bit error in the ESP register.
1. Does anyone know what this means?
2. Is this one of those things that will ultimately lead me to a solution that requires a purchase of some software I don't need?
3. Is this common?

This problem is actually more common than you might think and is related directly to a computers personality. Yes, many people do not realize that computers have personalities and even feelings. Your computer is just old and tired and is begging to be retired. Your only solution is to put that computer down and replace it as soon as possible. If you don't you risk a catastrophic failure that could result in loss of data.

Hi,
I think your system is Over heating , so just take the sides off and clean the fans etc with a soft paint brush (clean all the dust out of it) and try again. Hope this works.

I think one of your hardware is not compatible the other hardware you install....thats why its causing an error...

You really need a technician if thats really the case...
