Too be saved, you must accept Jesus Christ into your life and repent of your sins. Thats the only way to become a Christian. Now if you believe there isn't a savior, how could you say you ever was forgiven and made a christian? The fact you dont believe you was ever saved, means you never was a Christian, right?

Im trying too look at this, from a logical point, I know I didnt say it very well. Forgive me. 8)

usually athesits that were once christians usually say they read the bible all the way through and use the excuse of God being all good and never changing. They refer to the order of God to burn babies and all that in the old testament. What does the Bible say? Blessed is the nation who God is the Lord. Psalms 33:12 God ordered that because the nations that opposed Israel were not of God's children but of false idols

If a person isn't in any danger, they have no need for any savior.

If a person thought they were in danger, and believed in some savior at an early point in their life, and now they don't, who are you to think they will not be saved? There are 2 schools of thought on this. 1) Once saved, always saved, 2) Once saved, need for continual salvation.

Remember, a "true" christian is just any christian whose bad behavior has not yet been exposed. That bad behavior includes the renunciation of the faith. It is indeed handy to define people with hindsight.

we are all born atheists in the sense that we don't believe in anything except eating when we are born. It is usually at a very young age that some concept of God is introduced and sometimes forced upon us. i guess the more accurate question is why do atheists revert back to being atheists despite being bombarded with religion so much? No matter how elaborate an answer anyone gives, the simple answer to your question is that somewhere along the line they came to the conclusion they did not believe. Some have tried to believe. Some are very strongly against religion. It does not have to be based on logic, although most atheists will say that it is. Humans tend to believe or disbelieve and then use whatever arguments support whatever their choices are.

"Now if you believe there isn't a savior, how could you say you ever was forgiven and made a christian?"

Because that's what I sincerely believed, and committed myself to at the time. And that didn't come easily.

But not everything had been told me.
And in studying the bible in depth in order to be a better Christian, by that stage a better Christian teacher,
I discovered eventually that Christianity is not, at core, what it claims itself to be.

But although I understand (and myself believed) the doctrine which claims that anyone who falls away cannot ever have been a "proper" Christian, that's not true in my experience. By any measure that can be put forward, I was a genuine Christian.

But now I'm an atheist.

Because at the time, like you, I sincerely believed I had accepted Christ. This stuff drives me nuts. How can you judge what's in another persons heart?
You followers of a Johnnie-come-lately mutated version of Christianity make me sick.
Why don't you spend more time educating yourself and less time pointing fingers at other people? Obviously you could work on your grammar skills...

That's actually quite a good point, but at the time I believed that there was a savior and so I was a Christian then.

I know people can accept christ and later, after learning more, realize that this is not the religion for them. It does not mean they weren't sincere when they believed they were christian. I know I believed it for awhile until my gut started telling me it was wrong.

lol. So? I don't believe in your Jesus or your god so what does this have to do with me? I WAS Christian when I was a child. I grew out of it.

What you are saying isn't logical, its twisted by your religion.

some people are christians from birth.
then they figure out (around the age of eight) how the world really works, and become atheists, like me.

I did believe it when I was younger. I know it helps you sleep to think that we didn't, but we really did in a lot of cases.
