I have never understood why republicans get so furious at folks who want to protect the environment. Rampant rages on conservative talk shows, in editorials. Anytime somebody talks about cleaning the environment, the cons go super nuts..I dont get it.

Maybe conservatives are just naturally cranky. And that is a generalization. I do know a few conservatives who are active environmentalists.

Hi there Im not an American so I can onlz give zou mz own countries perspective. In Ireland we are on the downward curve in a peroid of boom. Environmental issues have taken a back seat but on the news and talkshows I have experienced the same poo pooing of larger issues such as this. Perhaps the reason is the "status quo enviroment" acts as a limitation on production and therefore problems to do with waste, due to heavz production, are a fearsome issue for those inclined to make monez and to continue doing so at the expense a resource which cant simplz be reduced to Euros

Because Conservatives hate change. Without 10 focus groups and more money spent to fund those focus groups to tell them they are doing the right thing they will not change!
And lets not forget that the focus groups will have to be founded in their home state or area so there can be more of our tax dollars to fund their economy. Then they can stand back at election time and say "Look at all the money I brought into our economy! Aren't I great! You better reelect me so I can take more tax dollars!"

nothing wrong with clean air and water i think Nixon passed the clean air bill which did much good. Why don't you folks get on the real polluters like Red China . India and most 3rd world country's

Because the folks who want to "protect" the environment are nothing but a bunch of hypocrites and liars who want the American people to shoulder the burden while they live in their 10,000 square foot homes and fly from coast to coast on their private jets.
Conservation and protecting the environment are indeed noble issues but I completely disagree with the way the so-called environmentalists try to advance it.

You are exaggerating a bit my friend. Conservatives do want to put "global warming" in its proper perspective. Unreasoned panic over something that isn't even primarily man made might be motivating many conservatives. See the book cited below.

I think it goes back to them feeling entitled, having been given dominion over the earth in Genesis. They seem to have forgotten humans were directed to care and protect the earth, and its animal inhabitants.
